stripped unit bearing bolt head. 92 Cherokee d30.

Obviously there's is very little room there and not enough room for vice grips.

Ideas?:miff: :miff: :miff: :miff:

Use a grinder & cut the whole head off. Pull it out with the stud still in the bearing & deal with it on the bench.

Next time use a 12 point socket.

you're screwed. swap out the axle for a "new" one. Actually can youo grind it a little or smash a smaller socket onto it?

Heat it up then air hammer with a chisel end and work it off.

that'd be ideal, but there's not enough room in there for a grinder.

The socket was a 12 pt, I have no idea why it stripped.

This unit bearing is disposable, I have a spare and do not need to worry about saving this one.

drill the bolt out of the nut. Then break the nut off with a chisel.. Bolts probly is hardened but it'w worth a try i think..

just checked on mine. you can get a sawzall blade in there if welding the nut isn't an option. If you need a hand holler I can swing by and help.
