Im getting a Chevy Small Block 383 which has 495hp at the flywheel and depending on the efficiency of the drive shaft ill probably get around 410hp to the ground. Now right now in my 1995 Yj Ive got the AX 5? which just wont cut it and im trying to get some other stronger axles that will hold up. Which axle should i choose from dana 30|44|60. If I would go with a dana 60 Is there a way to remove the hub from the axle? Which axles should I go with for the front and rear? This Jeep is gonna be used mostly for daily driving/highway use, just some off roading. Also what gears do you think I should go with?

Why in the world would you want to run a 495 hp jeep as a daily driver? There's a lot of variables you need to list to help make a decision on axles. Primarily, what size tire and amount of lift/ suspension do you plan to run? Are your offroad outings going to be trail riding mud, rocks, sand or simple trails?

Going with 60's will be the strongest choice but also the most expensive. 30's won't hold up to the hp and 44's will be somewhere in the middle.

Continueing to be the party pooper..... go with the 44's.

But, back to my other comment, 495 hp with 6" of lift is NOT daily driver material.

Silverxj, based on your opinions, YOU should be running D25's.:poke:

Ok, you've already done a bunch to the jeep, and all you have left is suspension and motor?

um, what else is there besides bling?

maybe a more mild lift and some basic wheeling would be a better choice before you have a bunch of power and roll it over and over and over.

aren't you the same guy that was asking about a trans to put behind the 495 hp engine? yeah, talk about jumping into a dryed up pool head first.

haaa have fun driving the jeep around as a DD. I have a mopar 360 in mine that is a mild build.... and with 35" tires and 4.56 gearing.... yeah its not a DD anymore. You'd have to be a millionaire to feed the thing!
