truck was going threw oil.. so i drop it off at the dealer they said intake gasket.. so i said fix it. got it back 2 days later its still going threw oil and now its going threw coolent... what do yall think it is?

there is a gasket on the bottem of the intake its called the intake pan gasket it cracks and then washes out #7 cly if you let it go to long then you will need a motor or rebuild that one. the coolant could be the possible heads that all crack by the exhast valve (glen dale machinest told me this)

wrong gasket, wrong torque specs, etc.

take it back let them deal with it. but like others said they used the wrong parts, or half assed it back togather

If it is leaking coolant, I would say they replaced the gasket on the wrong side of the head... I would guess your head gasket is toast and they replaced your intake gaskets.

i took it back they dont wana work on it now they said there work was fine but im going back agin to give them ear full.. tommrow iw ill keep u updated.

Was it Brighton Chrysler? If so, smack that smartass service writer. His piss poor attitude and lack of customer service cost them a customer with 4 Jeeps and a Dodge Ram tow rig. Too bad cause I like knowing the guy working on my stuff. Jeff over there (a Jeep guy on the board) is good people. I just won't deal with that dealer ever again. I just take my stuff up to Ken at All-Pro in Lansing now. WAY better customer service and he fixes it right.

yup it was brighton chrysler.. and i belive jeff was my severvis writter.. im going back up ther tommrow with my dad hes good at getting what he wants done.. so we will see what happens.

if they screwed up they have to fix it, even if they dont want to they dont really have any choice. if you bitch enough they will dojust about anything for you.

I forget what the service writer's name was. Jeff is one of the actual techs. I would trust him fixing anything. Just the service writer there is a worthless piece of shit with a serious attitude problem. I had nothing but trouble with him. At one point he hung up on me so I called the dealership manager and read him the riot act.

I guess that is why I like dealing with Ken now. He treats my shit better than I do and does it right for the right price.

It's a common problem on 318's and 360's. The intake has an access cover in the bottom. You must remove the intake to replace it. I would do a compresson test first on all cylinders, if they all pass, then demand that the intake be resealed.
Also inspect the plugs for burnt oil deposits. If you have a bad cylinder, put 2 tablespoon of oil and retest to eliminate any ring issues. If the compression test still fails, you have a cylinder head issue also.

If compression is good, replace the complete intake mainifold set, clean your throttle body and run some seafoam through the intake while the truck is running to help clear out all the carbon and oil deposits.

R&R the intake isn't bad, just time consuming for the first timer. You will not need to remove the distributor either.

drive side from the front. 170,170,140,140
passnger side from the front,170,90,60,140
passnger side after oil, the the 90 went up to 120 the 60 went up to 100, but clearly there is still low compresion. on thos two clyinders.
