This is a long shot but has anyone replaced an engine in one? My buddy needs his replaced and wants me to do it. I know nothing about this car/suv so I thought I'd start here. I'm going to check out some Scion forums later too.

Should be the same as any other engine swap. Nothing special just need to make sure you torque to spec and use new gaskets on everything for posterity.
I'm not sure if that set up is easier to drop the sub chassis or to pull from above but I'm betting it's drop the sub chassis because they have a tiny hood.
