I have a 2002 chevy and recnetly it started makeing a clicking sound when i m backing up. any one ever deal with this or no what causes it.

it might be a bad u-joint

The clicking sounds like its coming from the back of the truck

did you check to see if any of the back plates for the brakes are what's causing the sound? or either of the brakes themselves? or possibly something touching the tire

Do you have locking rear diff? Sometimes they will click and it is normal.

i do have a locking diff but thats not what it was. it was the rear u joint it just took me awhile to find where it had the problem. and it is now fixed. thanks for all the ideas though
