1999 Nissan Altima

SOLD

2.4 5 speed stick
184k
Took it on trade.
Runs, drives, shifts good, stops, sunroof, heat,
Crack in windshield, small exhaust leak, rear running lights on a switch, rockers gone, interior worn, no radio.

Fast little car that is good on gas.

Open to trades.
I need junk for this 96, 1500, 5.7, 2wd nv3500. Selectable rear any ratio, full aftermarket exhaust, 350+ carb or stand alone engines that will work with gm nv3500.

Other thing would be a good condition 271(manual select) drivers drop converted to a divorced setup.

The car needs a wash and a good scrubbing then I will take some pictures.

Fast fun car. Thing sits low and just goes. Good amount of low end torque considering dosplacment. Nice shifting car that could take you and 3 others to silver lake, the mounds, the badlands, and chicago on less then a tank.

Trade for a junkyard gantry crane(with car tires). Needs to be able to lift 1500lbs.

What you got?

Thing has not been started in 12 days. Just went out and drove it around the yard. No shorts or draws or smoke. It started right up. Tires all hold air great, thing shifts strong.

Working on the jeep, chevy, and cadilliac all day today. Come on out and take this thing for a drive.

I need 4 jeep 4.0 short blocks. Stock stroke.

Oil pan to head gasket. Good rotating condition. Good crank and cam bearings. Good oil pump. I need the damper, timing cover, and flywheel or flex plate.

I do not care about cam lobe wear or if the lifters ticked. But cam and crank bearings as well as cylinder walls need to be good. I cant stress that enough. I need good rotating assemblies to start with.

I need these blocks for a winter project and would like to get rid of this car in the process.
Bring out 4 good ones from the pile and lets make a deal.

Started the car up after having it sitting for 3 days and drive it out by the road. Tried out the rear defrost on the dew covered back window. It works. Less scrapping for the new owner.

Last 20 days.

$250 4 new AT tires from Walmart.
$300 Front Rotors and pads done at muffler man as preventive maintenance
$400 New EGR Vacuum Solenoid(code), EGR Valve, EGR Vacuum Modulator/controller, New cap, rotor, spark plugs. All quality OE or equivalent parts.

I de greased the entire engine bay and got some breast cancer wipers when I had a oil change done at Valvoline. I also fixed a few things such as a shiftier that rattled and hood latch that was a bit loose.

Windshield is still cracked and I don't see replacing it unless the crack spreads or I get leaks. Still no radio in the car at this point.

Driving this for the winter.

It will be for sale in March for $1400.
I will be in and out of Michigan through out the winter ans working on the jeep when it is not freezing outside when in town. If not that then I will be getting parts around for the C1500 Cadillac 500 swap in the spring between all the holiday family stuff.

But, if someone is serious with cash in hand I may sell this before March.

Burnt up the clutch. Its like gone gone. Had to rev to 4k just to move the car this morning. It is parked.
I don't have a shop. I don't care enough to keep the car.

All the tires might have 3k on them less then 5 for sure. The drivers front is sure to have a good amount of tread missing at this point. I got into the habit of pulling it a foot or two to the right at least once a day off a light.

Engine is still strong and transmission shifts smooth, lots of good parts.

$300

Pepboys quoted me just under $700 to install a new clutch and flywheel(worst case).

This engine is fun to work on.

Watch poor eric as he tries to pull the intake gasket without pulling the engine

He manages to do it. But at one point he is turning two screw drivers to loosen a bolt.

If I end up doing the clutch the engine is getting pulled and new intake/exhaust gaskets are getting done.

This engine 2.4 was used in mid-late 90's Nissan trucks and will bolt up directly to the RWD transmission used in those trucks.
It makes 150hp and the same torque while being able to rev to 6500 and loves doing it.

Open to offers. If I pull this engine to do the clutch good chance I'm cutting the car in half and building something rear engine.

My impulsive butt does not need another project to dump $3k into. I have one that needs 2k thrown at it in the spring and another that needs 3.5k thrown at it in the summer.

Bump.

Did a bit of playing in the snow with the thing.
Clutch smell was strong when I finally stopped. Going to need a trailer at this point.

Sno-drift is up in Atlanta,MI the end of January.

http://www.sno-drift.org/
Here are the rules
http://www.rally-america.com/rules

Basically it could be a B class-- 2wd, NA, with mostly stock parts.

Check.

You need license, insurance, cage, and a few other things to be safe.
Consult the rules

Then you can go road racing in the snow.

Cheap car as a starting point to get a taste of sno-drift racing.

The car can sit for 8-10 weeks and fire right up apparently. Rental place 10ish miles north of where the car is in Caledonia that has trailer rentals if you have a truck and no trailer.

Clutch is gone car needs to rev something fierce to move. Good for parts or fix it.

Springs here and it is just kind of in the way.
To many projects right now and no time for this.
