This evening I spent some time working on my son’s math. What better way to learn math by machining some parts to finally start building the axle for the bronco!

 

Excellent! Get them started young!

 

100% he can weld plasma cut and he is learning to run machines and read mics and understand them.

 

Started welding in the axle so far the face plate is in place and burned to the axle tubes. I started burning the back of it on I do 2 welds per side then let it cool 100%. I do 2 welds a day on it. That way I keep it as straight as I can. It currently sits at 72” tube end to tube end I will need to shorten it some once I decide what hubs ect will go on the ends of it.

 

Axle is all welded up! Next it will be getting a back brace some mounts and figure out what I’m doing for hubs.

 

Made some room for the coyote in the engine bay this evening. Fired up the old plasma cutter and cut out the gear box and old engine mounts to get it ready to sit the coyote and 6r80 in the engine bay!

Monday evening I stuffed the coyote and 6r80 in the frame time to start cutting and moving things to make it all fit!

Thanks haven’t worked on it again as we just got a blood hound puppy so been training him but hopefully I will get back out there and on it soon.

 

Been busy with puppy training and other builds but I managed to get my motor mounts in and tacked together. I need to pull it all out and plate and weld the frame but little progress is better than no progress. I keep getting side tracked with other builds. Rat rods motor swaps on my old odyssey ect

 

Looking good. Would be pumped to see all your other projects too.

 

I have a couple of my own and a few of my dads we been working on.

Here is my odyssey swapped in a 583 rotax sled motor a arm conversion up front and getting ready to start the rear suspension

This is my Boy Earl he is my current big project lol 6.5 months old and 67 lbs

Then I have my 30 sedan

then I just repainted my Harley

then my father and I are returning our old race truck back to a 79 ford instead of the blue and orange fiberglass dodge body it had

Shoot that’s only a couple of our projects lol we have a 68 bronco with a coyote building a 74 with a coyote a 41 Willy’s with a 3rd gen coyote and 10 speed a 63.5 gasser galaxie a 79 super cab on a 2018 f150 chassis my dad picked up a 1929 sedan and a 49 f1 for rat rod projects. Then there is this bronco my wife’s bronco my 77 super cab my excursion and we have sxs and I have a built old 87 250r. I plant to go down to just my sedan and 2 broncos thoe. lol not enough time for 7 cars haha

Thank! Been a dream car to build for a long time. Picked the body up last year and slowly been collecting parts. It’s a roller for now. Need to make a nicer frame for the back connect the body plan to build a cage for the whole thing. Plan is twin turbo coyote in it.

 

Made a hole for the pcm last night. Also found a spot for my fuse box it’s crooked and I need to move it over so it will sit better but it’s Time to start re routing and shortening wires!

 

Picked up a few parts last night for set of 4 coil overs and 4 bumps.

Next weekend I’m picking up a set of 48” trailing arms so I’m a few more parts
Closer to linking my bronco!

 

That was a steal on those shocks and bumps

I seen them as I was clocking out he replied and I went home and got in the truck and headed out. My dad is using one set of coil overs on his galaxie gasser and the other is for my bronco lol

 

Did a little shop cleaning and moved the bronco around so I can start linking the rear. Need to pick up a couple more big stands so I can get everything perfectly level. View attachment 26027

 

Started mocking up my rear links this should give me a 112” wheel base with my 48” link.

So this evening i removed the rear springs ect i still need to remove the front hangers. I started mocking up the trailing arms.

 

Well someone cut a hole in my floor! Time to start linking this thing!

 

Making progress on my diy control pack wire harness relays are all wired 10 more wires in the pcm than need hooked up

 

Fuse box is done ish I’m sure I will need to add a few more wires but I hooked power to it and the switch pro lit up so that’s some progress

 

Well made some more progress on the rear axle using 14 bolt spindles and hubs I will weld up turn down and redrill to 5x5.5 to match the front

 

Tonight I decided to turn down the last 14 bolt spindle and / hubs and get them ready to be re drilled

 

Last night I taught my son how to indicate the hub on center and we drilled the new bolt pattern in the hubs. Axle wms to wms is 74”
