Wow they will brush and add points to your wife's vibrator for only $1. That way if she doesnt like you spening that much coin on the car, she can go fuck herself. Now that is a friendly service not offered anymore.

$20-$25 for an engine and trans overhaul
You could buy a new/reman engine for $35-50 from Sears for a Model A/T

Keep in mind that many cars were under $1000, the Ford Model T in 1915 cost $440. That was about 4 months pay, and ~$9500 in today's money.

By 1916 it dropped to like $360 for the basic model.

Yeah I realize that. $25 was a considerable amount of money back then seeing as the average yearly income was just over $6,000, which is about $115 a week

still though if average income was 6000 a year and a new motor cost 40 and now the average is like 60000. So id love to get a new motor for 400.

Sorry I should've known my poor choice of words would cause an uproar. Should've said engine for my van. As in I'd like to find a GM 3400 v6 engine for 400.

It's not quite 1928 either, but if you seriously need a 3.4, that's not a bad price.
I know but no I dont really need one. Prolly not bad but i had over 400 into the top end of my 3400 all on my lonesome. I can't imagine what a shop charges for replacing headgaskets and such. I was just amazed on the prices and even adjusting for avg income it was steal beack then.
