You tell me when!

Cut the old big rear bumper off, since it wasn't tied into the cage anymore and wasn't really the look I wanted. Then put a chunk of 2x4 in the frame, just gotta make some shackle mounts. I like this much better

Then I gutted the hatch because nothing works anymore and removed all the old factory wiring in the frame.

Still trying to decide on a way to finish the rear of the cage, it's tied in but just looks bad hanging out there.....

Yeah, a minute or 2 worth. Still not enough to cut out the rear floors and fix em up.

Anyone happen to have 2.0 coilover spring slider, the thing that goes between the springs?

Not sure this one has any life left in it

Edit, found some on kartek, probably cost just as much to ship... Got a sweatshirt to raise the bill to make me not feel as bad lol

Lol, paying shipping sucks. Amazon has spoiled me.

Ordered that 24 dollar spring slider and a sweatshirt and it was $19 to ship.

Welded the rear shackle mounts on the bumper and painted it.

Then modified the new steering shaft i made last week. I replaced the old rag joints with universal joints and they allowed the shaft to flop a little bit. I didn't have any rod ends that fit to support it, so I dug through my scrap pile and found some square tube that fit nice, little getto but whatever. I figured the square should keep it for binding too much and it was free.

Next I need to figure out brake lights and get my transmission shifting program in high range.... I'd like to be able to drive it on the street

Did you get the spreadsheet from me? Gets a little convoluted with the location of your VSS.

No, I don't think I did.

I just need to add a switch to the ecm to enable high range shifting right?

And program the shift points, which are all off by 1.96:1 somehow

Swapped the single ended ram for the double, looks fancier now, it isn't.

Think I'm about ready to go wheeling

Covid really sucks, and I think we have people taking advantage of the fear it's creating. I don't see this ever getting back to normal... Anyway

I tore the steering column apart and got the bearings back where they belong, thanks for pointing me in that direction John, and I was able to fix any of the binding I was having.

Also, finally added some inner fenders in the back to keep the mud off the back of my head., it's crude, but that's the whole style of the build... Lol. I used some thin plastic, went pretty smooth.

Sent the cut tire out to get it vulcanized, didn't trust the diy patch without a spare tire. They did a great job. I also made a deal with feva4u and got his old double beadlocks. The outer is messed up pretty good on a couple wheels but I decided to just run em as is then add rings later. They hold air good and lasted a day at rocks and valleys... Can't complain.

My daughter drove all day, the load of kids had fun and I was finally able to use the rig for what it was originally built for, more than 2 people lol. She said the new steering was way gooder too, thats a win!
