Don't take it personally, I do it to all city dwellers.

Scotts fertilizer is about the best on the market (know this from working at a golf course). I would use the green bag and not the weed and feed.

Here is an excellent weed killer. I live in the country where dandelions are excessive and have about 4 acres and use it in a tow behind sprayer. I might have about a dozen dandelions a year.

It comes in smaller bottles so you do not have to get this big one and you do not have to get this brand, just any one with the 2 4 D in it. PM me with questions.
Good Info... Thanks

dont use tru green or any other big company. they will rip you off, provide shit product, and you cant get rid of them. find a mid sized company, between a solo guy and franchise. I am in the landscape industry and seen and heard terrible things with tru green. only company I will not recommend.

First off. If you have ants. You gotta get rid of them. Then.....Sounds like you need a soil sample. You can get kits from MSU extension. Basically send in soil from three areas of your lawn. They will evaluate it. Get PH readings. Then tell you what needs to be done. We did that with our cottage lawn. Itís lacked nitrogen. They told use winter fertilizer on it three times in one summer. It really helped! As far as you bare spots. Get a load of black dirt. Spread it in the bare areas. Rake in grass seed. Cover with straw. (Not hay). And water. Thatís what we did. Lawn is 100% better than it was.

Never thought about doing that. Might have to do that as well

A friend of mine owns this company. http://redlineservicesinc.com/. I think they are fairly local to you.
