Finished the cage today. Well sorta, I ran out of wire before I could finish the last few welds. Close enough. Ill get some more wire and finish them next weekend. Thought about putting an X brace behind the seats but after looking at it a while, I decided its good the way it is. If I ever go back to 5 point harnesses Ill add a shoulder strap bar and some triangulation.

looks tons better. why not just add one bar behind the seats and run harness'? way safer that way. you could easily bend one to just clear the seats and attach there.

just curious

Truth is I ran out of tube. Since my A and B pillars run through the body, I needed a pretty long piece of tube to span it and make the bends to clear the seats. Its still on my Radar and Ill probably do it when I get some more material. I need to pick up some smaller diameter tube to make a small rack system for the rear cargo area anyway, so another stick shouldnt be that big of a deal.

On a side note I got my DOM from ALRO in Grand Blanc. I had never bought there before, only from ASAP or the small ALRO storefront in Jackson. Grand Blanc had the best price on tube by FAR over the other ALRO stores I called. They were great to deal with, and when I showed up with a short bed truck to pick up my order they cut it down for me on the spot. I will definitely buy from them again.

Thanks, just trying to get it in some kind of shape to get out wheeling again. Its tough to keep toys around if they never get used.

I am just about ready. Just need next weekend to finish up a few welds and relocate or re-do the rear bumper. I have a small pinhole in the radiator that I forgot about, shoulda pulled it and brought it back to A2 to fix it. What did you have in mind?

Thanks, I really like the look of this one. Much better triangulation, better lines, and no more back seat!

Actually got out to Bundy Hill for a little wheeling. They had a nice little area set up with some concrete tubes, logs and some twisty dirt piles. Quite a few people out there, mostly quads and dirtbikes. Saw several built rigs, exo cage and 44's that were making short work of the hill climbs around the park. When we got ready to leave we saw a group of Jeeps that looked very capable, but never saw them out on the trails.

Nothing difficult, just fun to get out and drive around a bit. Pleased with the amount of twist in the suspension, and it seems to be running decent.
