Thanks for sharing.
Michigan seems to be doing ok for the most part. I'm hoping that we contain ourselves and not spread it around. Three counties seem to be hit hardest are the 3 most populated. By following guidelines in place we should be in the clear in a few weeks?

The reason I asked about China using this as an attack is because of how( I heard) they did not share with the WHO that they had a problem and refused help when asked if they could come in and offer assistance in combating this virus.
I also read that this virus first showed itself in October and still allowed their citizens to travel abroad.
Just seems kind fishy. Trump imposing sanctions and playing hardball with them. Something that other presidents never did.

I wouldn't say that having the 5th highest number of cases in the country is "doing ok".

And I agree that China may have been reckless in their handling this, but I don't think it was done to attack the world.

Its much better than New York and west coast.
The doctors in china that wanted to bring attention to this have disappeared. Kinda strange but its china so... also they started to blame this on the american army that caused this, why cast blame?
It does make you think that this also hurts them as well. You'd think they would want to get this under control quickily.

Gotta take culture into account, anything that makes China appear like they aren't in control is subdued. IE a virus and the need for outside help.

Yes sir. It would make them look weak and that's not what they want.

Keep dreaming. At this rate we'll be extremely lucky if the rate of new cases has even peaked in a few weeks. Not number of new cases, but rate of acceleration. That means the actual number of cases is still climbing at that point, but number of new cases per day is slowly dropping. I bet we're still 6 weeks from peak of actual cases, then best case scenario we'd still be several more weeks out from being in the "clear". Then if we still don't have a means of prevention aside from isolation, when life comes back to normal the clock starts ticking again until the cycle starts itself over. Hopefully by that time we'll be smart enough to cut it off early and isolate sooner and better so it can be "eliminated" in a couple weeks instead of a couple months.

Jim, I hope that turns out to be as good as it sounds!!!

In other COVID news:

YES ♂️

Tuesday it was a mild cough. Wednesday afternoon it was only slightly worse. By Wednesday night, it was a fever, weakness, severe body aches, headache, and anything beyond light breathing caused me to start coughing. It was miserable.

By Thursday afternoon, I thought I was starting to get better. The only symptoms were the headache, weakness, and a fluctuating temperature. But that night I went back to feeling miserable again.

Friday I woke up feeling dehydrated and the diarrhea started (yay). I’ve barely been able to eat since it started on Wednesday. Last night, I was feeling a little better and decided to get out of bed. I had been in bed for about 45 of 48 hours at that point. Even though I felt weak, I slowly walked around the house for 5 minutes to get some exercise. 30 minutes later I was still panting like I had just run a mile. My wife called the Washoe County Health District, who we had already started a potential Covid 19 case with. They told us to go to the ER immediately.

At the ER, I was tested for pneumonia and a few other things. The doctor said I had a respiratory infection and started me on antibiotics to treat the early stages of pneumonia. Based on everything they saw, the doctor said we assume you have the Coronavirus, BUT they don’t have enough tests to actually test people unless they’re dying! So when you see the statistics of the number of cases, keep in mind that it’s nowhere close to being accurate.

Hopefully I’m near the end of this, but I’m not going to be back to normal for a while, and it’s still possible I could get worse again.

For everyone thinking this is a conspiracy, that it’s being blown out of proportion, or just not taking it seriously, you’re being foolish. I don’t think I’ve had a flu shot since I was a kid, and I think it’s been 20+ years since I had the flu. The Coronavirus is twice as contagious as the flu and it’s much more likely that you’ll end up in the hospital because of it. You can also pass it along to others before you show any symptoms. I potentially exposed a few people because I didn’t even consider that having a scratchy throat or cough meant I already had it. I thought I was being careful, but we’re not being careful enough. My wife and kids also likely have it. The kids should be fine without getting any serious symptoms. They’ve both had a fever and some coughing. Sara has only had a minor cold, and she may not get any worse. Hopefully not, because we need someone to take care of the rest of the family!
Pulled from Facebook. Seems relevant being such a well known figure in the offroad world.

Yep. A friend in Saginaw is currently dealing with all the same symptoms as Jesse. They tested her but she won't have results till tomorrow. Mid 30s with normal health. A close friend's mid 50s coworker in Wisconsin died from it Thursday.

Mid January my coworker (tool box next to mine) got very ill. He checked all the symptom boxes. He missed two weeks of work. Docs didn't know what he had other then respitory issue, horrible throat, weakness, shortness of breathe etc. Said he'd never been that sick in his life. Makes me wonder.

I've worked with the guy for 10+ years. I could count on one hand how many sick days he took prior to this.

The chair is against the wall. The chair is against the wall. John has a long mustache. John has a long mustache. It’s twelve o’clock, American, another day closer to victory. And for all of you out there, on, or behind the line, this is your song.

It kind of has to.

A bunch of old Boomers thinking they'll shake it off while they take their hundred ailment pills from a pez dispenser probably aren't going to fair as well as a bunch of snowflakes hiding in their Mom's basement.

I have noticed that the number of cases has increased every few days. From approx 300 to 500 and as of yesterday to about 800 +.
you are correct that those numbers will increase and quite rapidly to.
Those are cases that people have been tested. Just wonder how many people just stay home and rest and push through on their own.
I did get the flu in january and stayed home and got over it in a week. I didn't go to the doctor and get checked. There could be 10 times more cases out there.

I was thinking about the gun shops and the influx of shoppers. I wonder how many of the anti-gun people are going in to buy guns?

There must be a lot of sickly boomers over in Chelsea. I know a lot of boomers who are healthy as a horse...
