I heard this can be an issue. I have a 2013 Sierra, I should probably check mine.

Because every good Farm truck needs to have a $100 CL tool box in the back

Now my kids are not sharing the back seat with all my tools

That is either a stripper pole or one hell of a drive shaft

Shaft it is.

After years and years of abuse it was time for that big bitch to go I am done with putting carrier bearings in this thing, this new shaft is 26 Lbs lighter than the old one and the u-joints are stepped up to the 1480 also

The girth of this shaft is impressive

Very nice! Was that an upgraded stock replacement, or did you have it made?

My truck is a 04 quad cab long bed, in 07 the mega cab short bed trucks started running a OEM one piece drive shafts. After doing some research the trucks are identical from the frame down, and the OEM part number was not hard to find. I talked to 2 different shaft shops they could make it but it would have a 90 mph max and cost me a grand, I got this one shipped to my door for around $550. Just for fun I kick the big pig this morning on I94 and she ran 105 as smooth as a 15 year old truck can.

Apparently I can't do a simple oil change and tire rotation without it turning into a shit show

So what's the story? Why is there a fresh rear caliper post oil change and tire rotation? Standard maintenance?

I just got back from a wheeling trip and knew some maintenance was going to be needed. So, I grabbed some oil and decided to check up on everything as my front rims had break dust all over them. Upon further inspection the front breaks were fine but the back ones were toast. I had a seized up rear caliper that ate my pad during our long drive home. So it was that game of phone a friend to get a ride to A Zone for parts and get it back on the road before work tomorrow.

Gotcha. I was hoping for "rear rims stuck, I was swinging a sledge to knock loose... and I hit the caliper.."

How many transmissions has this truck had? Doesn't it have an ungodly amount of miles on it? Glad to hear you can get it fixed quickly.

This is the 4th rebuild over the past 16 years, I have a little over 750K on, hoping to hit 1 million before the next rebuild.

I have tried everything from stock to wild!!!! I have found I get the best performance out of a Mild build up as I am not throwing 1000HP's at it but the stock setup will not keep its shit together.

Can not see the pictures of this or your new tractor.

Is it you, or is it me?
