Default A sad reminder.

Speed, alcohol, and zero seatbelts DO NOT end well. 😔

Joe's was Mike Haines' old CJ7. It was orange, but it was back-halfed and much more chopped up than that one.

I'm pretty sure the article says he's dead.

Not to argue...but.

Quote:
“There was four in the jeep,” Sgt. Johnson says. “The driver was a man from Cedar, the passenger was a man from Gladwin. The other two passengers were also from Gladwin."

The wreckage of a jeep built for trail-riding sits twisted.

Troopers say the impact killed a 48-year-old Gladwin father.
Quote:
The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries, along with a 21-year-old woman who was riding with her mother in the backseat.
If the driver was drinking, as the article suggests, I'd imagine he'll spend the rest of his life in pound him in the ass prison.

i have a friend that was the driver of a drunk crash that killed someone. He got 6 years, he'll be out this year. No license ever or at least a very long time. He was young and dumb, not the devil. He has to live with it. It was his passenger that got in the car and didn't put seatbelt on. Way different I feel than an innocent motorist.

I know nothing more about this story than what the article says. I do not condone drinking and driving. The passengers where not wise to ride without seat-belts. Nowhere in the article does it state anything besides speculation on if alcohol could have caused this accident. If the driver had 1 beer an hour before this, they would love to say it was the cause even if it was not.

I suppose I just asked to be flamed.... but, that is not my intent. To me the driver deserves to be tried before he is guilty. It would also be nice to know the rest of the story.

It does look a lot like the general, but I doubt that it is....

Yes, a beer an hour ago isn't the same as open can in the cup holder, I agree. I'll admit, the way the article was written had me jumping on the throw him in jail for being a drunk idiot bandwagon far sooner than I should have.

Not the general, someone posted it on Kyle's wall on the face space and he said the general ended up getting parted out.

I was on the Gladwin ORV Trails yesterday, mostly the quad trails.....scary thought.

I agree on all of your points.

Absolutely scary to know around each corner could be something that is gonna run you over. I was in a pretty bad accident ~25 years ago in a head on collision on a 2-track. So, while snowmobiling, quading, or riding dirt bikes, the thought is in my head the whole time.....where is my exit strategy if this goes bad.....

In the article further down is says:

“There was evidence at the scene and some admission by those who were in the vehicle that some drinking had been going on,” Sgt. Johnson says. “What extent that played in the accident...kind of yet to be determined."
