Still works fine actually....original to the house, so about 30 years old. -knock on wood-

Just had to replace the gas valve in it, and I replaced the thermo-something- a couple months ago.

One of those things where i'd like to get it replaced before it dies, cause you know it'll die right in the middle of winter during a 0 degree cold snap. Plus, there's a lot of work the ducting needs too, being a modular home, it's all fawked up.

Yup by the way you make it sound its close to giving up and you're right, it would do it on the coldest night of the year.
It look like your bang bang stick will have to be put on hold.
On the bright side a new furnace will give you peace of mind that your family will be safe and warm

I would jump on the new furnace. We replaced our 30 year old unit with a high efficiency one and it was night and day. Its not only super efficient it heats more evenly and you can rob the blower off the old one for a shop fan that moves mega air.

It definitaly is on hold lol....not like I need another gun, I could probably just as easily sell 2 or 3 of the current ones and get a new one.

Just really hard to actually sell one

That is what i'm looking forward too, even heating. The house has a full basement, and the furnace is a down draft, like most modulars/manufactured. We plan on moving to an up draft, and putting in the actual ducting rather than the fiberboard shit. Getting all new ducting to each register, now the registers are about 2 foot away from the main each main trunk, but there;s a 5 or 6 piece of flex ducting snaked S curve style to them....can't imagine why the house doesn't heat evenly.

New, more efficient furnace, new ducting... coupled with a house that's actually wrapped with insulation board and tyvek under the siding. Can't wait.

Echoing what BigBlockBlazer said.... My father went from a near 30 y/o furnace to a new high efficiency one about 2 years ago and it really is amazing what a difference it makes. You will be very pleased next winter.

My first house I bought in 2006 had the original General Motors furnace in the basement from 1938. There was a metal plate on the side that indicated it was converted from an oil burner to natural gas in 1958! The only problem I ever had was the blower broke a belt once and I got a new one from autozone for like $5 lol

I replaced it for about $2000 for an 80% efficient furnace and paid myself back the very first winter!

This is what kills me though, look how long that operated. Meanwhile, my 90% furnace from the 90's in my rental I am being told needs replaced because they can't get a stupid electronic board anymore. Luckily they found a used one.

I will say, that is probably why ours still works; barely any electronics on it. only thing electrical is the transformer, which I replaced; no circuit board, no computer.

Full crew at the ol' truck accessories factory today. . . I don't know their manufacturing capabilities, but I'd be hopeful they could/have convert(ed) to producing PPE.

I hear ya, selling guns is not easy to do. Buy more for sure. You can look at them as an investment.

My brother just told me about it.

It's not much of a stimilus bill, more than it is a progressive wish list.

Seriously, no rent or mortage for a year? Why are they even paying people money then?

It's not to buy food, cause it also increases snap benefits. It's not to pay for medical needs, cause they're increasing medicaid benefits. It's not to pay outstanding debt, because they're making it so the "stimulus" money can't be levied to pay outstanding debts....which it should be. You owe money, pay what you owe first.

Fawking straight bull, they way it is right now. They're not making anyone pay their debts, but handing out money just like they do at tax season.

At the rate it's going, I might as well quit and say I quit from covid concerns and collet more money on unemployment do I do working. With everything right now, I would collect about $1,500 a week between UI and PUA. I don't make half that a week now.

This is the golden opportunity to unseat Trump by giving money to people.

I liked the part about giving stimulus $ (tax payers $) to illegal immigrants who don't pay taxes. <~~~~~sarcasm, if it's not obvious.

This is the test run for socialism...…

Been saying that a lot lately. This whole pandemic has felt like it since the "free money" part came about along with being told things we had to do that are not constitutional.

This is only for a primary home too... so because my old house is a rental now because Owosso is such a shitty market and I can't sell it for what I have in it, I will still have to pay that mortgage while my tenet gets off scott free for the year.

This government is legit fucking insane. another $1,200 plus this time $1,200 per kid...when how many thousands of people haven't even gotten the first one yet.

Oh wait, all the fuckin non-working, welfare getting mother fu*kers all got theirs already, and now they're begging with their hands out again. When they're already getting the BS however-much "unemployment" each week.
