Default *SOLD* Suzuki LJ20 axles (multiple sets, good for kid-sized buggy)

I'm sure people have seen online photos of the killer-looking kid-sized mini buggy HERE (also in the photo below) using tiny Suzuki LJ20 axles. I'm currently rebuilding a '72 LJ20, and have 2 extra sets of these axles available in Michigan. I'll eventually have a 3rd set, but they're under my vehicle at the moment.

These axles measure 45" WMS-to-WMS, and have been adapted to use disc brakes and/or UTV wheels & tires. Differentials are centered front & rear, and have low 5.67:1 gearing. They're open diffs, but people have successfully modified the carrier to use a Lock Right 1520 locker. The original drums are no longer available aftermarket, and these axles do not include drums. I have one set removed and sitting on a pallet in my garage, and the second set is under a chassis I'm using for mock-up, but could be removed within a week or so, if needed.

These would be great for a kid-sized buggy and/or 1-person, ultralight buggy project, etc.

$350/pair, or both sets for $600. Located in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Thanks,
Craig

NOTE: These are not photos of my axles; photos borrowed from RAVERY's (on Pirate 4x4) for sale thread for reference only. These just show what can be done with them.

Here are the pics of my axles. Excuse the mess with the not-so-rolling-chassis...I'm using it to mock up the driveline for my LJ20 (not pictured).

Thanks,
Craig

FWIW, the reference photos appear to be 4 lug, and your axles in the photo appear to be 5 lug? You might want to clear that up.

Would love to have a realistic reason to squirrel away a set of these

I guess I implied it in the description stating that UTV wheels have been adapted, but didn't explicitly mention the 4-lug thing. In stock form, these are 5 x 5.5 bolt pattern. The rear would be very straightforward, as it uses a Samurai-style 4-bolt flanged axle shaft that an adapter plate with any bolt pattern could bolt up to. I'd have to do some homework to see how people have adapted the front to a 4-bolt pattern.

I even have a set of 15" x 8" steel wagon wheels with "roller" tires I could include if you want a set of the axles. They're the wheels & tires in this photo.

I'll probably keep at least one set around for a future project, as they're so unique and light (I have 3 sets total).

Thanks,
Craig

Here's a photo of the second set of axles I just pulled.

If anyone is curious about converting the front to disc brakes, there's a write-up here: http://www.lj10.com/howto/discbrakes/front/

I do have a set of Samurai knuckles that include the required caliper bracket for this conversion, if anyone's interested in a package deal (axles, drums & Samurai caliper bracket).

Thanks,
Craig

You're a terrible father if you don't build your kid a crawler with these axles.

Seriously, I'd like to move these out of my garage. I'm open to reasonable offers.

Craig, how many boxes of beer constitute a reasonable offer at this point?
