We are mounting each seat angling slightly outward. The tight foot space pushing my legs outward caused discomfort in my hips.

Makes sense. What seats is AJ using? Got any photos of how low you went? Was looking at Jesse Haines build on facebook and during early mockup it looked like the seats were sitting on the bars, but as built, looks like they are lower.

They're sitting on the bars. With them like that we have a hand width of clearance. No way to drop them, about a 1/4" clearance from atlas. Plus we are running a deep pan on th350 (my old spare built th350) so that pushes stuff up some.

You still going to run a 205 case?

Yeah, will start with a ford 205. If I decide that 2:1 isn't enough low range, then I'll go Atlas. But that will be down the road.

One year on the trip out to Hammers we stopped for gas at 4am near Effingham, Illinois. Jim and I were in the store looking for coffee and breakfast. Being the health conscience types we are, we decided donuts were the preferred choice. We looked at the donuts on hand and they looked like they weren't good when put out, and that looked to be a few days ago. I asked the lady behind the counter where to get some good donuts and she said the Walmart.

When we hopped in the truck we started towards the Walmart, I was asked why I'd go to Walmart for donuts. I said "the lady inside said they had the best in town, and she was neither skinny nor pretty, so I'll take her word that she knows where to find a good donut."

Turns out, she was wrong... they were crappy donuts. But "Neither Skinny Nor Pretty" stuck around and that was the nickname of the old jeep for a while.

Good times, good memories.
And that's why I get to poke John about it.

Yup, good memories.

Thanks. It's just following directions. Happy with how it goes together.

I would be shocked if he wasn't willing to sell parts.

Tight is better than not fitting.

Offset 1" to passenger side. As it sits there is 5/8" between 205 and frame rail. Mock up mount gives 1/2" clearance to skid. Gets tight on pass side with bar Chris Roxroes said to modify. Drivetrain is at 3* angle as it sits.

Trans pan has clearance with skid. Thinking I should put torque converter on to make sure crossmember doesn't interfere. Don't think I can push engine back without pass coil pack hitting firewall.

Jesse Haines hard mounts everything. I'm wondering if that makes sense looking at how tight it is.

A few more. Put on intake and it looks tall up front. Need to put hood on. edit: Tried hood, no good. Ordering up the car intake. I have the Goatbuilt alternator and TC pump brackets as well as a N-pump from Casey. I may try a Gen4 truck water pump and see if that allows the belt to route.

I think my seat can straddle what is left of the bump on the 205.

Need to talk with the TIG-meister header guy to see if he is up for tweaking the headers to go around the top of the trans. @PUNISHER TA
