Front driveshaft is tacked together and drivers side exhaust removed to check for clearance on the frame, just barely clears...

And it looks like I will have just enough room to squeak a 2.5" exhaust tube between the driveshaft and frame thanks to a conveniently placed (definitely unplanned) splice tube

Too tight. Once things start flexing it will hit. You may also want to relocate that wire loom.

I doubt it. The picture is taken at worst case scenario with the drivers side at full bump and the passenger side completely drooped out. My chassis is rigid enough where I will see very little chassis flex and all my joints are nice and tight. I will paint the driveshaft there and if I see paint rubbing off I will cut and plate the frame accordingly.

And yes on the wireloom, if you notice you can just see my hand holding the exhaust tube in place just to get an idea of where it is going to go. I have a lot of work to do yet before this weekend.

Let's hope I can get this thing put back together before Saturday and report back on it after the weekend.

Still need too:
-install inner axle seals on the 9"
-Fully weld driveshaft
-rebuild entire drivers side exhaust
-install transmission and oil pan skids
-add misc. gussets
-install springs back on the coilovers

I got the first 3 exhaust tubes tacked in place and the last one cut tonight. It should be a pretty big improvement over the last set up, and as long as I get my o2 sensor bung shows up in the mail tomorrow I'll have it all finished.

The exhaust is all tacked together and clearances checked again, all is good. Some asshat stole the package from my porch that got delivered with my o2 sensor and weld bung so hopefully I can find those at a parts store in town tomorrow and get everything finished.

Clearance looks decent. Better than in the other pic. Good luck.

Yea the other pic was with the passenger side drooped all the way down. This pic is with both sides full bump. Got the exhaust and driveshaft back out this morning and started welding on them. Located an o2 sensor in stock and hoping I can find a weld bung at a napa our auto value.

My day on Saturday got cut short, but I still had a lot of fun watching the RBOR race and getting some trail riding in. My computer is not sending the ground signal to the coil packs and I cant figure out why. All sensors, grounds, and power is good. Might try flashing my tune on the willys pick up computer tonight and see if that works.

Its alive again. HP tuners showed me a real wierd crank sensor signal current so I started wiggling the wires around and got it to start. Still haven't found a bad spot but I did find a new dent in the corner of my oil pan right by where the crank sensor wires go so I'm assuming it got squished. I didnt have time to put my oil pan skid back on before last weekend and looks like I paid for it. I'm going to replace the crank sensor wires and re route them over top of the motor now instead of underneath. And get my oil pan skid back on before playing in any more rocks

Yea I'm hoping to get it fixed for a trip up the the dunes over the 4th weekend, but the wife wants the interior on our boat done before then too. Compromises will have to be made somewhere haha (hopefully in favor of the jeep!)

Friday night I got the jeep prepped and ready for the dunes all day Saturday and about an hour into it my trans decided to lose all forward gears

Got the trans pulled this morning and I'm probably temporarily going to put the trans I rebuilt for the willys in the wrangler. Going to take at least the valve body and pump off this one first to see if it's something I can fix relatively quick.

Thinking part of my failure is due to the way I mounted my cooler with both fitting pointed down making it hard to work air bubbles out and flow all the way through. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Yup, drove in reverse back to the trailer and loaded up to head home and get it fixed.

Good seeing you again for the short time I was there!

I wouldn't think the trans cooler was the cause of failure. I use to have a remote cooler on the back of my YJ above the rear seats mounted on the cage. Ran it like that for a few years and never had any issues. Probably just due to a worn trans with miles on it.

Did you mess with the transmission calibration at all?? Or is it not computer controlled?
