Default SOLD 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 4WD Vortec MAX SOLD

2008 GMC Sierra 1500 Extended Cab Regular Bed 4WD
Vortec MAX / MAX Tow Package RPO NHT which includes- 6.0L all aluminum V8 RPO L76 (same engine as in Pontiac G8 GT), 9.5 semi-float rear axle, 4.10 gears, rear disc brakes, G80 auto locking rear dif, 4L70E trans (instead of 4L60E)
Also has extendable towing mirrors like a HD truck, and they are power/heated
Power windows (all 4)/locks, rear defrost, auto-dim rear view mirror with temp and compass, dual zone auto HVAC, keyless entry with remote start, power adjustable pedals, and rear park assist
Spray in bed liner
Selectable 2, 4 hi/lo, and auto 4wd

Its rated to tow 10,500 pounds, I did a 14.76 in the mile with it with stock tires. The trans has about 3k miles on it, rebuilt at Detroit Gear Box with a couple improvements (Rich is well known for performance auto trans in the metro Detroit area). I put Bilstein 5100 front struts on it plus a inch strut spacer for 2.25 front lift. The rear has 2 lift (3.25 tall blocks) for a factory rake. I have all the original parts. The Bilsteins have 3 positions so it could easily be set to different stances. Tires are 285/70/17 Pathfinders with 3k miles on them and road hazard from Discount Tire.

Front brake pads/rotors (ceramic pads) and the Bilsteins have about 5k miles on them.
Drive belt and AC belt are new and the oil is Mobil 1 full synthetic with a few hundred miles on it.

I use a Diablo InTune on it to keep the Active Fuel Management AFM off (the shutting off cylinders at cruise speeds)

It was purchased new by a GM employee and I am as well. I have all the warranty and build info with it. It has had some warranty work done including a new t-case at 4k miles and new lifters at 96k miles.

Only current flaws are a small scratch to metal on the passenger front fender, trailer tongue damage on the rear tailgate (yes, only time I have ever left the tongue unlocked by accident was on the nicest truck I ever owned, it only popped off in my driveway not on the road), and no spare tire hanger (it broke). I will probably fix these items and then ask more money to the public. Also a negative, it had a 5th wheel hitch in it so there are the bolt holes in the bed.

I dont beat on it but I did take it to a test tune hence the mile time and photo. It is a very nice and cool truck. I would love to keep it pretty much forever but I cant have everything.

Has about 108k miles on it now.

Asking 17500- lowered to asking 16500 obo for the tail gate and scratch damage being there

added couple pics, they show the stock tire size. The pic of it moving is on current tires.

Any specific reason you disabled the AFM?

I'm on my third GM with the AFM and wondering if you just didn't like it or if it's a longevity thing?

Lifters collapsed. It happens sometimes with the AFM. I guess it doesn't happen that often, I work at GM and I don't hear about it ever. But I still got nervous after it happened and just turned it off. Next owner could go either way. The InTune can be included in the sale.

Thanks, the 4.10s help I think. The newer trucks are even better. A co-worker has a 2015 6.2L Sierra with only a cat back exhaust on it and ran a 13.9

I may consider trading this truck in on something I want so don't be afraid to make an offer. It's not going to get 16k as a trade in.

Mine were all 5.3's but my 09 burned oil terribly and they said it can be caused by the AFM occasionally. Thankfully they fixed it under warranty and it wasn't a problem again.

Good luck with the sale, I had the 5100's on my 09 and really liked the way they ride. Truck looks good.

pic of the "scratch to metal" on the passenger front fender. It isn't much.

Family friend has a VERY early '11 Yukon that uses quite a bit of oil. AFM is to blame. Just outside of the warranty on it too. From what I understand, gm fixed the problem on roughly mid '11+ models.

GLWS, OP. Cool truck.

I did not trade it in but I would still like to sell it. I don't have many pics of it handy, ignore the Camaro.
