I can't attach a big ass pic like you did without going to another site to host it.

I just attached a non-resized pic without going to another site. Below is what you get.

Have you ever uploaded a pic to facebook? You don't have to resize it for it to embed at a normal size. How hard is this for you to understand????

This x 1000. I get the same thumbnail pic when I try to post an image here. I can go on another truck forum, hit the upload file button, and post any pic I choose in full size without having to host it elsewhere. There was a time when it was possible to do the same on this site.

You are basically telling people to use facebook and it's killing forums (not just this one). I know the admins don't really care since I doubt that have any incentive to increase usage on the forum... they are just hired help to keep it running, not like when it was privately owned

So I'll just host the photos on FB and share them there.

This picture started out as 1215 x 1091 pixels and now its 100 x 90 pixels. So the question is how do I change the default dimension setting? The picture you posted was 670 x928 pixels. And yes that's our new puppy

At the moment, about 9. There are 4 that you will see the most often though, as it's our full time task to respond to forums while the others work on other projects and just get pulled over to help out as needed.

Most common names are Kevin, Niall, Erik, and Ed

When you upload an attachment, if you go to the "Go Advanced" and use the paperclip icon to upload, there is a small arrow next to it. If you click that, you'll get a drop menu with all your attached images. Click them, and they'll be inserted inline with text and be larger.

This is by design in the settings, though there is some inconsistency with the settings. There is a setting that enforces "thumbnail creation" which resizes the image in the thread itself to that small size, though if you click the image you can see the larger version. Good for preventing overlarge images breaking the format of the page.

Your image is a JPG, and that setting is turned on. My image is a PNG, and it's turned off. We should probably sync that up. What would the preference be? Large image in thread, or small image in thread but you can see it bigger by clicking?

We could also make the thumbnails bigger, to have a bit of both worlds.

I'll double check with the mod team before making any changes

Just as a final note, want to say that we didn't write the software this forum uses, we just use it, and as a result we are restricted in the limits of what we an accomplish. The software is pretty good though, and I believe with some tweaking we can get it to the place that'll make people happy, or at least only sorta angry

Preference would be to automatically load a jpg at about 1024 x 768 nominal size.

and then have your thread automatically show that pic at a large size, not a thumnail. Otherwise then you have to copy the image URL, put them inside the IMG tags for each and every picture you post.

Same for people reading the thread, they shouldn't have to click through the thumbnails one by one to read a thread.

I increased the dimensions of thumbnails.

Please let me know if that works.

You might need to refresh your page and make sure the image isn't already saved here for it to update.

Let's try this one. I know it isn't on file here. @admin, Better but the resolution sucks. If you are able to control the resolution, why not give it a little more?

Next test will be to upload a couple to see how it goes.

I have the resolution set to 95%. Previously it was only at 75%.

@admin - Cricket, you are getting there. Let's look at this one. Far better than where we started.

You are very welcome. Small thumbnails are a pet peeve of mine so I try to fix them when I see them. Have a stunningly beautiful day!
