I also need a different muffler. It's ridiculous. I can't hold a conversation at idle lol. Can't imagine actually being spotted through something.

Got the taurus fan installed..... Took it for a spirited ride and never seen above 212 on low or high levels n the fan. Not a solid comparison given ambient Temps. At idle it'll sit on 210-212 indefinitely. If I bump idle to 1200-1500 rpms though temp drops to 202-204. Wonder if a better flowing water pump would help after all. Question is, does anybody offer a high volume drop in pump for the LS housings?

Been fighting with muffler quietness as well. Went to a 3" in/out Hush power is also way better below 2500 rpms. Above it's annoying lol, cackles

If you want, I can measure my muffler for you. It's very quiet at idle and cruising around but of course when I get on it, it's loud. It's a round Borla 3" in/out right next to the transfer case.

I'd be interested Chris. Looks like there are a few 3" input round Borlas to choose from.

Full tail pipe, exits passenger side right next to fuel tank. I'll throw pics and dimensions up tomorrow.

I have a round 3" SS magnaflow (do not know part #) right next to my t-case. Used to exit in the right rear, straight out. Did not like how the smell came in or the drone in some situations.

Shortened it a little and welded a 90 on it. Made it so much better. Smell and sound is much easier to deal with. If I smash it, I will just hack it off and replace it.

My muffler should be this one. It's the only one I see that meets all the measurements. Not a bad price for a 304SS muffler. https://www.borla.com/products/xr1_s...rt__40085.html

I've been thinking about trying to add a little race bullet somewhere to quiet it down a little bit more but there's just no room. The exhaust is within 1/2" of the frame, floor, tcase, or transmission everywhere I could put one. Maybe at the exit next to the fuel tank, but then it's likely to get smashed. If you want it quiet and have a way to add another smaller muffler somewhere (preferably close to the engine), I would definitely do it. Mine is tolerable, but if I had the choice, I would have it a little bit quieter. If you want quiet idle, this one definitely achieves that.

Passenger side comes down and straight back. Driver's side comes under the oil pan and joins in the side of it. More of a T than a Y. I'd get you a picture, but I rode my bike 4 miles to get the other pictures and now it's pouring rain.

Higher stall converter? I'm trying to decide on a converter for my willys pickup and I am leaning towards stock. I have a 2500ish stall in my wrangler with a 224/224 cam, the cam in the willys truck is like 218/220 if I remember right

Edge street 2800-3000 is what was recommended for my combo. With the stock converter I was pushing through the brakes to easy in low range.

Installed the flowkooler water pump. Unfortunately not enough difference to matter. Guess the only thing left is a bigger radiator.
