Default WOD Revolution 4 Seater Build

Figured id start a build thread for my current project. I used to be on here as 89TBIguy but after everyone had to recover their accounts a while ago I never bothered. Nobody cares, I know. During my hiatus i bought a house with a shell of a shop that needed literally everything so I had to do a lot of work there first. You can see it progressing in the back ground of some of the pics

Here it is when i first moved in

Ok into the buggy...

Build Specs are as follows:
Gen V l83 out of 14 silverado
th400 RMVB
NWF ecobox/205
front 609 with a TG housing and superduty outers/shafts
rear TG housing with weaver fab bearing cups
Coilovers/bumps TBD

First i picked up a 205 only to open it up and find a lot of water had been in the case, after some rust dissolver this is what the gears looked like. no bueno.

picked up another that was perfect, rebuilt that one with all new bearings and seals. While i was at it cut off the big mounting boss for that support bar they run in factory form to buy some more room under the seat.

Back to together and ready to go. Added a sight tube with some push connect fittings and fuel/oil rated 5/16ths hose (Mc master Carr P/N 51495K219 & 8359K15 if anyone is wondering)

Heres the day I brought the motor home. 2014 aluminum 5.3 with 19K miles on it. The two big hangs up with the "new" gen v stuff is the there aren't many options on headers and its looking like i may need a center dump. Im left with running corvette LT4 manifolds with their weird flange if i cant make the factory truck ones work. Other thing is because its direct injection it needs a healthy fuel pump in the tank to supply the DI pump. 72 psi @ 45 GPH to be exact, it needs to be capable of pulse width modulation (unless you want to run a regulator & return line) Hoping i can again use the factory stuff again there too but time will tell.

Picking up some superduty goodies for me and my friends

This was a fun day. Adam and guys were super cool to deal with. I got crawl around all the sweet buggies they were working on there. We chatted for a good while shook hands and headed back to Michigan.

I even got a cool souvenir to remember the trip

For seats I ended up ordering some +2" PRPs. I was only using one seat to mock up with and when i finally pulled the other out of the box it had a cut on the top of the headrest. PRP agreed to recover it for me.

I ordered one 3rd that ill use for mockup on both front and rear axles. Initially the front and rear will be low pinion, ill package protect for a HP. Im already used to my LP chevy 60 dragging all over gods green earth anyway. Down the road when I can swing it, it'll be a Hi9 or gearworks 10 in the front.

Note to self: if you don't pay for the fancy 3rd member shipping case it will show up wedged in a bucket.

Specs are as follows:
-billet steel pinion support
-yukon nodular housing
-35 spline grizzly locker
-5.43 gears
-Gearset & bearings are REM polished.

Also I picked up two of these Spicer Cs from these guys

https://downtofab.com/collections/da...spicer-2023561

They fit the 1550 joints and are ready to accept a 3.5" axle tube. Which was nice in my case because it saved me from having cut the Cs off and then get them machined. Plus now I have a intact SD60 (minus knuckles) tucked away on the shelf for a rainy day.

Also fair warning, if you are opening that link at work, there is a big banner at the top that says DTF lol.

Nice. I was wondering why you paid more for the inner Cs than what most are paying for the axle, but the 3.5" ID vs the stock 3.75" ID is nice. We had to make a shim on for a spidertrax 3.5 axle which worked but was kind of a pain.

I'm guessing they use stock ford 05+ knuckles and unit bearings?

Yeah it came down more to a convenience thing, I was worried about having to do just that. And yep they bolt up to the stock knuckles and unit bearings.
