Installed new gears in the rear, of course the collar for the air locker had the copper tube break. Do I had to order a new one. Received it, and it different then what came with the locker. Appears they changed the setup of how the tube connects to the collar.

So that's all buttoned up. Hopefully I'm done messing with the rear axle for now.

I've got to change out the fenders on my current Jeep - you honestly have me considering a set of "negative" fenders. Being that you are driving it daily, would you do the same fenders over again?

I keep going back on the fact that even if you had a 3" flare, that extra 3" really isn't going to do anything for you anyway - the way the tires stick out they are still going to throw debris and whatnot.

Thoughts?

Only time I notice is in a hard rain below 25mph
I can see the water flinging. But it's not bothersome. As of now, I would get them again.

I just sustained major damage to my front fenders due to having 4" flares. For a street rig it makes sense. For a trail rig, at the moment I'm wishing I had gone without them.

Glad the gears solved your noise issue.

Still no complaints on the fenders and driving in the rain or any other time.

Been driving it alot. I think Ive put 10k miles on it since purchase. Which is great, cause that 10k miles not on my f350.

I added some 1.5" wheel spacers to it, the tires rubbed on the lower front control arms at lock. The lugs would grab hard onto the arms especially in reverse.

Been enjoying the last week+ driving it everyday with no top and doors.

Nothing else to really update. But I did pick up its future axles. Probably wont do anything with a swap till late next year. I plan to run gitchee gumee and a trip out west in the spring next year on the current axles. But I do plan to upgrade to a 5.3L after gitchee gumee this year.

Bought a 06 f350 front and a 04 f350 rear. delivered to my shop for $500 (would of been $150 less, but couldn't get them to wave the core charges).

Figure ill work on building them over time. Front will get 5.38's, zip locker (or arb), and some metrofab hi steer and full hyd. double ended ram with truss. Rear will get an zip locker or arb as well.

Already started tear down of the front while I'm slow at work.

Supposed to be taking delivery of the motor/transmission donor vehicle tomorrow. Crossing fingers it shows up lol.

Probably right after gitchee gumee the 4.0 and overdrive trans will be on the market. Both run and work out well. Plant the seed now for anybody reading and possibly interested.

Drivetrain donor didn't show.

Craigslist, met the guy to look the tahoe over, doesn't run, liked what I saw. Made an offer he excepted. But he didn't have the title with him. It's only a mile from my work where it's at. So he offered to deliver the tahoe the next day between 7-4 (hours I worked saturday) and bring the title for a couple extra bucks. I agreed. He wanted a deposit from me Friday. I told him he had my #, my name, and where I worked. And being he didn't have the title I wasn't going to give him a deposit.

He called me at 1 to let me know he would be there in an hour. Well at 7pm he texts he couldn't make it . Glad I didn't wait around for him lol. Still trying to pick it up. But communication is difficult, typical Craigslist yahoo
