It's funny you say that, because I thought to myself "gee,I guess when the kids are older and it's mostly just me and the wife,I could get a jeep!" Right after I posted I'd never get a jeep, Lol

Well, my kids had to go riding around in the truck today, so we headed out to the sterling truck trails for a short drive. Truck worked great. No uninvited noise, creeks, squeaks, or breaks! I love this thing more now than ever. Can't wait to get the front geared, the alignment done, and some other things that are high on my priority list of things to do to this thing.

Some driveway shots

Inner fender with some minor trimming, turned out pretty good.

I saw an opportunity to flex her out some, and gave it a shot! The driver's front is bumped out, and the passenger front still had about 2" of strap left until it lifted the axle.
It's nice to know I can get that flexed out and more, and still have all four tires on the ground

what spring rates did you end up going with and how much shaft is showing on the shock with them?

My springs rates are
350 lb x12" over 450 lb x12"
The shocks are sitting at about 4.5" of bump at ride height. I'm thinking of raising the front an inch or so to get about 5.5" of bump travel.
I think it rides great,a little stiff, but it really feels like you're in an old school 1 ton pickup. I put about 400lbs in the box, and it rode real nice. I like a truck that feels like a truck though, so I'm a little biased.

If I had a wife and 4 kids though, I'd build a single seat buggy.

@sterlingfire What did you use for a pitman arm and did you keep your original steering box?
Thanks!

No problem, always glad to help out. I used a pitman from an 02 jeep grand Cherokee.I had the taper drilled out to fit a gm heavy duty drag link end. I have the stock box, actually the one I have only had about 40k on it when installed, but it's already getting loose. I'm going to be diving into hydro assist very shortly, this will help take the extra stress off the box.

No, it actually didn't. There were three double splines in it. I took a sawzall and cleaned out the double spline, then finished them with a small file. There is about a 3"drop to it. Made my steering geometry perfect for the height I was after.
