Fun time racing snow snake yesterday. Note to self, don't grab 3rd, you don't have the power

Your runs looked pretty solid.
Are you attempting to do the trans swap before rbor this year?
I think for racing the 3:1 will be a bit low, but for crawling should be pretty good. With my 5.3/4l60/241/4.88 (6000 lbs lol) i find that 2.72 isn't low enough for real technical stuff, and running up the hill at snow snake it was too low. I've got a behemoth/ 205 doubler to go in, and feel like the 1.96 will be great for racing.

I ran 2.72:1 during snow snake. I thought it was about perfect. Kept out of overdrive.
4ds 5.38 6100lbs 6.0 4L80.

1.96 is a nice race ratio though for rbor etc though. That's what my last rig was.

I want to have it swapped before rbor, I have all the parts but I am unsure if it will happen.

Those runs were stupid slow, mostly my fault....i don't push hard ever and it's mental.

I have always raced it everywhere in 2nd gear high range...so 3.04 1 x 5.38. At snow snake it would very easily bang the rev limiter. If my math is correct top speed in 3rd low with the new setup is faster than the gear I use now by a couple mph and my top speed is not what holds me back, my average speed do to not mentally pushing holds me back so I really think it will be fine.

I also have no idea what it weighs. I honestly think it's sub 5k. It was 3880 with Toyota drivetrain and axles, I have added a lot, but shed a lot too. It will shed more with the auto swap since the 350/atlas is considerably lighter than the 4500/205

I did say solid... that doesn't necessarily mean fast

I don't know what could help you mentally... that's probably something I'll deal with as well. Im always better when being pushed or under the gun... but alone i tend to over think everything, so when you get it figured out, I'll be calling you for advice

The other thing to think about with your new setup and using 4 lo, you'll be shifting through the gears, which will give you more low end power for coming out of corners and coming off of obstacles. That will get you back up to speed quicker, hopefully making you faster all around.

One small annoyance I have discovered. You would think that when designing a th350 to atlas adapter, they would have cast the adapter to accept the stock th350 trans mount. It just seems reasonable to me....instead they cast the threaded holes closer together so it doesn't fit and you have to buy their mount.

Makes perfect sense to me.
