I'm pretty rural but off one of the more main roads for farm country. Have my desk set up in front of the window and if I didn't know better I would have thought this was just a normal day based on traffic. I really hoped this order would be more effective.

I could throw rocks on i96 highway from my bedroom between muskegon and grand rapids and the traffic is notably less, especially during rush hours.

Seems a lot of people are working out in the world even though we're told to stay home.

There are still a lot of business's classified as essential. Add in those who are out while being socially careful, yes, our society is still functioning at a lower level.

A lot of us have jobs that we need to do so you can work from home, your water still needs to work shit still needs to go down the drain, I had an emergency bridge repair that we found yesterday. Someone still needs to stock the shelves and run the cash register so you can eat, life still needs to carry-on.

It’s weird.
I only get calls from people I actually know now.
Robocalls, car warranty, recall and general nuisance calls have dropped off all together.
I like my phone again.

I just hope all will take this seriously. It sounds like all on here are! The sooner it passes, the sooner we can all get back to some sort of normality, and that means STAY THE F$&K put!

I went from working 50-70 hr day shift weeks the last 2months.....within 24hrs I took a voluntary shift change to 3-12’s friday-Sunday. It’s going to hurt but I’m going to take advantage of the “time off” and get some stuff done around the house.

My kid is 11, and getting bored of even video games! So schools in session at my house, I’ve taught him how to operate our backhoe! Yesterday he successfully ripped his first parts truck a 1990 chevy truck in half with it! Today we pull the cab/front clip off it and finish parting it out.
Take the time and teach your kids something!

My kids (6yo and 8yo) have three e-learning days a week (Tu, Wed, Thur) through the school on their iPads. Keeps them busy for most of the week and still learning.

Neither of my kids are school-aged yet, and I'm still working from home for as long as they can afford to pay me to, but I do look forward to more family time and teaching them some useful skills.

I still get those. And if it wasn't for those I wouldn't know what my phone sounds like. No one I know calls me.

I'm 100% on board with isolation, but unless we get more people to do it, it's not going to work. It'll help flatten the curve, but this thing will drag out indefinitely until another countermeasure is found and implemented. The order yesterday was a great start, but it's not widespread enough nationally(and internationally) and it's not strict enough. Too many non-essential companies still skirting or straight up breaking the rules. Hell, Truck Hero in Ann Arbor is still building freaking tonneau covers with hundreds of employees elbow to elbow in the plant and I bet there are hundreds of other examples doing the same thing.
My only worry about this 'triage testing" is it skews the statistics, if you're only testing those you're are pretty sure their sick, then it drives that death rate number up when people who show minor symptoms are never tested

Right. In reality the number of infected is likely way higher but the percentage of hospitalizations and fatalities is lower(but not the actual quantity of them). But at some point, when the hospitals are already maxed out, that becomes moot too. If they're already treating more than they can handle, then fatality rates will climb because they won't be able to save people who they otherwise could.

It's a shitshow no matter how you look at it and it's only just beginning. I should have taken the blue pill.

But the more you drive the death rate up the more panic and fear you can instill in the sheep.
