Run both sides out of office, they are all trash. Nothing but bickering and maneuvering for the next election instead of getting shit done. Ridiculous.

Probably both true. I can see both sides rolling plenty of pork into the bills.
As usual, both sides more focused on pissing in each other's cheerios than doing what's right for the citizens. Now that we need it more than ever they're still playing their stupid ass games while people are getting sick and dying. If only this thing could specifically target the people who deserve it.

We are deemed an essential business. Other than to and from work I am staying home. Our sales are slow so I may end up in the shop off and on. (I could use the exercise. ) Dianne has gone out a couple times for groceries but keeping it short & simple. Now is the time to get caught up on things like purging paperwork, organizing, etc.

I mean Trump has spouted some stupid shit and is giving way too much credit for a potential medication working. Seems like he's putting all his eggs in the magic pill/cure basket and not in stopping this thing in the only way we currently know how. He's not personally responsible for these people being complete fucking idiots, but he didn't help the situation by planting stupid ideas into their stupid heads.

So his other option was to say "we think that an existing medicine has a great chance of kicking this things ass...... but we won't tell you what it is ... nanananana"

Yes he has said some stupid stuff but stupid people taking chemicals on their own without consulting a doctor is not Trump's fault.

I agree with you, I hope he's not putting all his eggs in that basket. I read it more as an effort to calm people. The hysteria out there is enormous.

I don't think all eggs in one basket:

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/22/s...loroquine.html

I don't think it's Trumps fault they ate fish tank cleaner. People take nitroglycerin to help with chest pains, but you can't eat a stick of dynamite.

Again, I'm not blaming Trump. It's Darwinism at work. But his statements on the use of chloroquine IMO showed an unreasonable level of confidence in its effectiveness and not enough caution. I get that he's likely trying to walk a line between preventing panic and providing helpful insight, but he tends to be way too far on the side of downplaying a crisis and providing little substance.

They're both doing good. Momma is getting a little anxiety over being a lab technician in Grand Haven. Giving her some options as far as precaution at home go to comfort her. I'm sure @frdboy is in the same boat, except that his wife probably has a lot more stress over it.

My wife runs one of these labs. She's had all her days off cancelled, plus she is getting instruments up and running to bring the tests in house. It's been stress city here. She will be the only one able to run them until she can get the rest of the lab trained up.

I'm surprised the hospital hasn't just locked her in there to keep her away from infection, if she gets sick they are all screwed. I know her boss joked about it.

I think anyone who works in health care is probably stressed to the max right now. Not a fun time.

I heard a doctor on the radio this morning that’s working with the government on this said new test are coming like China has where you will know results in hours, that’s suppose to be happening in next week or so. And there’s a test in development that’s a home test kit to determine if you had the virus already and recovered from it, they’re believing once you have had it you will be immune from getting it in the future

There are several tests that can be done. By the end of the week my wife will have 3 different instruments that can test for it. I also did read about the home test to see if you have it, but I'm curious on what they are using for the sample.

The biggest issue so far has been core labs do most of the testing, that requires shipping the sample, these labs have been overloaded and turned a normal 4 day turn around into a week or more. There has also been delays in getting viral transport media.

Testing was not done in the past for this, so we will see huge surges not only as it is diagnosed, but as more people are tested. The steep curve will also be affected as more labs gear up and more are tested daily.

It's going to be a serious strain on the hospitals if the projections hit the marks.

From what I've been hearing it's not the number of cases but the number of deaths we should be paying attention to. Number of cases will continue to go up as we continue to test but "flattening the curve" really relates to those cases requiring hospitalization or death.

Obviously as it's a percentage of the total cases there is a relation, but to expect the number of cases to flatten out is illogical for the current time period
