Hooking up switches for performance shift and 4low. Not a ton of info on the 4low hookup but it appears from what I've found that I need a toggle to ground for this one. Hoping to find out this weekend on that.

When I did it in the past, adding a manual case in place of a electric one, I had to add a manual switch to control the 4 low shifting and found a momentary switch did not work and I had to put it on a toggle.

Momentary for Performance shift (High range shift points) and toggle for 4-low(shift lock) installed and working. I was able to hold 1st gear.........which isn't supposed to be possible so idkwtf that's about. Allz the bobbities on demand now.

4 wheel low the 60e just can't make the 2-3 shift. It says it shifts but I have to lift to let it grab 3rd. Comes with the territory I guess.

Reinforced the drivers side slider. Hopefully that'll help keep it from caving in further.

Now to locate a stock TJ steering box to replace this leaking POS.

Also, my Buna-N rubber that I added to the fuel cell to seal it is not working. I'm going to have to do something different with the fuel cell eventually. I can't get it to seal up.

This week I'll grease and nut/bolt things, put the belly skid back on and get ready to go.

Nice! I have been trying to figure out how to hold first gear for a while now. I dont have it real bad but when I'm at the dunes it really likes to jump between 1st and 2nd a lot killing some momentum. My brother has it real bad in his silverado.

Edit:
My 4l60e has no trouble shifting from 2-3 in 4 low, although my vss is before the t case. The 2-3 shift in 4 low is what killed my last 60 though.

It's not supposed to work so I don't know why it did. I put the gear selector in 2nd and turned the toggle on figuring it would force thru 1st and hold 2nd but it sat on first until I turned the toggle off. Maybe a fluke? Use at your own risk My VSS is before the t-case as well.

Yes they are. Parts have been ordered. Should be here tomorrow. If you were following the Loren Healy discussion, the answer turned out to be "not yet".

"New" steering box in, $10 IP67 rated led lights added to the frame. Need to check fluids, grease, bolt check and put the skid plate back on. Looking forward to this weekend.

Damage report was pretty light considering how I drove all weekend. Ended up rolling into someone cutting their tire so that was a real bummer. I need to replace my fan as I lost high speed in the driveway after we were done wheeling. Great timing on that "break". I need to build another spare rear driveshaft to replace the one I broke and fix my $10 amazon lights(find the break in the wire for the ground.)

I'm probably going to buy new wheels/tires. That is more of a want than a need. My wheels got chewed up pretty bad. I'm pretty sure I ran them too low trying to gain traction and broke the wheel lip off. It's pretty obvious my tires are the weakest link on my rig right now.

I need to hook up an in cab winch control so I don't have to keep getting my remote out and putting it away all the time. A joke can be made about just driving the obstacles but I used it just as much to keep from throwing mud all over for no reason as I did for recovery.

I need to buy a driver's seat and add a harness. That's not really negotiable anymore since I flopped for the first time. Seat belt held me in fine but I would be more safe in a different seat and harness.

Overall it held together really well, no complaints.

Wasn't the fan that quit. My Taurus fan controller setup did not like all the trans fluid spilled on it when I flopped. Time to clean that rat's nest up. Relax, those are all relays for fans and lights and they're all fused. Time to clean it all up and move it into the cab.

Bought tires from walmart.com, they shipped the wrong ones. Had them change the order and make a note for the right part number, they shipped the wrong tires again. Also ordered wheels from them, they cancelled the order. 0 luck through walmart.com right now. They do have 185 Milestar Pategonia regular 40x13.50R17LT's in stock though. They do not have the black label even though that's what their website displays when you order. I will say, the milestar's are as tall as a toyo 40x13.50r17 so that was good to see.

Rat’s nests are fun to troubleshoot.
Cool on the tires.
