Ended up breaking a carrier bearing on the frt driveshaft at loonie. Stupid cheap amazon bearing lol. Broke the cage that surrounds the bearing. Thankfully BigBird came to my rescue and had another bearing. I just had to swap out the bearing in the housing with the one I had left over from the broken one.

I also toasted the motor in the jeep . The LQ9 I had installed never had great oil pressure from the get go. But after some fun in the above linked video it pretty much had no oil pressure. And after changing the oil the strippers had come to visit it. The previous oil change two months ago showed signs of them coming. But after loonie they deposited all their glitter . So I picked up another LQ9 this last week. Gonna get that swapped out and build a new harness for the drivetrain. And probably rewire much of everything else. Would also like to get all my artec body mounts installed and as some of the oem ones are at a 45 degree angle My fan mounting got a little to close to the radiator, got a pinhole leak. Thankfully a local radiator shop got me fixed up for $66 and repaired that spot and a few other questionable spots.

Jeep has to be on the trailer pointed west by the 9th. Going to this years Unlimited Lj Adventure again, this time starting out in Sand Hollow.

It was fun. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Sand Hollow. I’m not sure your full body rigs belong.

Guess I do another round of updates...

Got the "newer" LQ9 installed, got the radiator fixed. Rewired and clean up a bunch of that on the jeep while it was apart. Relocated my battery to inside the tub and redid my intake routing.

Then headed out west to Hurricane, UT to begin the 2018 LJ Adventure with @alboy79 and @frdtrckmnrich.

We base camped out of the state park at sand hollow for the week.

Mon. we stayed in the state park in sand hollow and ran "the Maze". And played in the dunes etc.

Tues. we ran Double Sammy to the chute, then headed back and we made our way to Torquervile falls and camped by the waterfall for the night.

Wed. we broke camp and headed for the north rim of the grand canyon and stayed the night at BAR10 ranch.

Thursday we headed out from bar 10 and made our way back to Hurricane, UT.

Fri we did milts mile and 3 monkeys in the state park.

The LJ Adventure officially ended friday night. We stayed friday night and wheeled a few more hrs in the park saturday before heading east back home. We took our time and made a stop in Disney, OK and wheeled there for a few hrs at the dam.

Sand Hollow was kick ass, I bet we only seen 25% of the park while we were there. Literally something for everybody, between the sand dunes, rock crawls etc. And IMO the best part is the park is considered a scramble area. So while there are dedicated trails per say, you can wonder off trail if you see a line or obstacle you wanna try. I had alot of fun with that aspect. We had 15-20 rigs depending on the day, doing the follow the leader on the trails. I found myself weaving in and out of the line and trail just playing around everybody. I cant wait to get back!

This was "the Chute". Probably one of the most famous spots at sand hollow for pics and videos. All those pics and videos way over exaggerate this obstacle. It really isnt that vertical or difficult. Super easy. Was kinda disappointing. But made for cool shots.

Sand Hollow, I think this was "Johns Trail". It was the last trail we ran before heading home. I was low on gas and thought it may be an issue. Before heading out I check with @frdtrckmnrich on fuel as he had 3 gallon can on his jeep if I needed it.....I did lol. We knew we were on playing for a couple hrs so we chanced it.

FB_IMG_1542760939719 by Cheapthrillb2, on Flickr

Of course i was on a pretty awkward vertical climb when I ran out.

I really like this shot to. Also gets a nice view of a alot of the sponsors we had on the trip that helped make the adventure possible.

The first two days I was having drivability issues. Jeep kept getting lean and low on power. Turns out my mass air flow was flattening out above 4500 rpms. Wasnt registering more airflow past that so it wouldnt adjust for the added air, and I had a RR caliper locked up. Got those fixed.

And the 2nd day I broke a LF lockout. Only the 2nd oem ford lockout I've broke on the jeep. Pretty sure I hurt the lockout earlier in the trip as when it broke it wasn't doing anything cool and really didn't even make a noise.

Only other issue I've noticed is my frt driveshaft. Apparently I've worn out the spline engagement in the shaft. Its loose and very noisy during rotations.

You should point out that you made the investment into tuning software, which allowed you to troubleshoot your issues out on the trail using cell internet. In that instance you were able to change the tune, scan, email for a 2nd opinion, change parts, scan again, get it fixed and continue on your trip. I know how self sufficient you are, I don't think other people realize just how impressive it is given the complexity of the vehicle you've put together and how well it works. Not only does the jeep work awesome, but I'm blown away by how well you know every nut, bolt, and wire on it. Pictures look awesome, looks like it was a great trip!

I'm just glad I didn't blow it with full throttle assaults on comp hill prior to figuring it out. I'd hate to put a 4th motor in this jeep in one yr.
