Default Dog flu? AND ANOTHER CON ARTIST

Anybody out there have a dog that came down with "dog flu"? I have had my dog in getting fluids and meds for three days now, she has seemed to perk up finally. She had a sort of cough, a redness or rash on her under side, and was running a fever of 103. something. Not a big fever since they have a body temp higher than people do. She was very weak and lethargic. I hope it is all done. I will see over the weekend. The vet thought it was kennel cough at first, then pneumonia, and even an allergic reaction. She is on steroids and antibiotics now. If you can shed some light, please do.

Thanks. She is back to shivering, I don't know if it is from pain or chills. Having a great day. Microwave door catch just broke while dinner was going together, then during rinsing the dishes the kitchen faucet hose blew apart, soaking the counter, under the sink, when it shot down through the head, but not before squirting me across the chest. I couldn't figure out if I wanted to laugh or blow a major gasket. Oh well, tomorrow should be better.

Have to add, the painter we hired to paint the interior has all but disappeared. He wanted half down, I'm glad we agreed to a third down. Its been 4 weeks and he at least gave excuses as to missing the repeated start dates for the first 3 weeks. Now we cant reach him. sniffling little bastard. That's the last time I even listen to a sob story. Now I have to reach out to the cement guy and see if I can get him back out to talk about how he shorted me on my bypass on my driveway. I hate being old and half crippled. I used to do all my work due to people like that.

I'm sorry to hear you're having such a bad week. I hope the pup gets better soon. Sick pets are the worst.

It sure did help to vent that steam off. Abby seems to be pulling out of it, but we still don't know what "it" was. Starting to think it was an allergic reaction to something she ate. I do know she got her jaws on a bowl of hard cat food, I was thinking maybe there is sea food in it or something. She does get a few scraps of the food after Dana and Axle are done eating in the morning. Most times just a few pieces pushed off after Axle gets done. They are always wanting the dogs food too. Just like kids, the cat wants the dogs food and the dog, the cats food.

Glad to hear your pup is doing better. Did you get ahold of your painter?
I paint myself and usually don't ask for draws on paint jobs unless they are large projects. I have seen some guys start a job then get a draw and start another project and get another draw and so on till they have four and five jobs on the go. I have picked a number of paint jobs from guys that never came back. Hopefully your guy comes back and finishes up for you. Blow his phone up and don't let up till he gets back with you.
If I wasn't swamped I would offer my services to you. Right now I'm booked till mid December.

I have had painters in my family and in-laws. I have known several painters due to that.

Never met a painter that worked for themselves that wasn't on the sauce or super religious. So if they had enough money in their pocket for the foreseeable future (meaning until the next mortgage payment is due) you'd either see them at the bar or "volunteering" for some congregation member's strife. They all did good jobs... if they showed up.

It's hunting season. Or deer camp season. Weather is getting shitty so most painters are trying to finish up outdoor projects. Or at least I know what's what my relatives do. Then they do a mad rush between Thanksgiving and Christmas working 16 hour days 7 days a week.

It's best to pay for materials only up front. Then at least you have something besides a commitment for your money. Then hold the last 20% until you're both satisfied. It's usually their profit margin.

WELL. found a way to look up my painters criminal record. It seems he is still on probation till this December. In and out of the judicial system back to 1996. Fourty five years old now and it appears he has learned to keep the down payments under the $1000 mark. I wonder why it is mentioned in that way on his records. Also seems he also likes to write checks on accounts that have no money in them. In both Livingston county and Shiawassee county. Now I have to figure out what to do.

Care to share the “painters” name? All of the contractors I have used recently are very busy. Many are booked into next year already. We just had our great room painted for a very reasonable price with no money up front. Pm me if you want his info, but again, probably be into next year.

We are going to try one more time to get him to show up. I will probably let that out tomorrow.

Ok, so we got him to reply by sending him a request for our deposit back and a pic of his mug shot. His name is Jeffery Filip from out in Shwartz Creek, off of Reed rd. Please ask your friends, family, and associates if anybody has had bad dealings with this person. Our contact has informed us to see if there is any other known cases with him ripping off possible customers.

MDOC number 262858

Thanks up front if you have info on this guy.

Sorry about your bad luck man. Glad the dog is doing better.
We had a painter with issues too... not like yours though. He was a pompous ass that thought he was a general contractor for me. That got annoying quickly. He also said 2 weeks that turned into 6 because he would show up at 10 or 11 then be gone by 3 or so. Got old. Painters are a different breed that's for sure. Good luck on getting your job finished.

So did you get your money back? This guy is on parole so all you do is complain and he gets a free ride back to the klink.

Since he got caught and prosecuted in Shiawassee county he must be a real gem. Shiawassee county doesn't try that hard.
