I still like using GL4x4 for tech. There are a couple private FB groups I'm in with great tech support, but I agree it still sucks trying to search something. 95% of the fb groups I'm in I'd never ask a tech question, but there are a few good ones

Maybe Veeder Root will buy the site back and take it to its former glory.

I'm hoping to document my fishing season on GL4x4, so I'll do my part to keep the outdoor forum going!

Sure would be helpful if I could host some high quality pictures here though Otherwise I have no choice other than hosting them on Facebook. Thats why FB is thriving; it's so easy to share experiences with pics, videos, live feeds, etc.

I've moved to uploading pics from tapatalk. It's super easy if they are on your phone. The problem comes when trying to upload pics from my pc archives. I haven't found a good solution yet.

Doing it from dropbox is pretty easy, just have to change a section of the link dialog and copy the link here.

But all my pictures sync to dropbox, so for me, it's just one step. If you don't use it it'd be another step.

Do you really want to know what the difference is? Click on Meets, Greets, and Wrenching.
Notice that the oldest post on the first page are nearly 2 year old.

Then click on page 50. Notice that from top to bottom covers about 2 months.

When this forum was at it's peak, we knew each other. we wheeled together, we wrenched together, we drank together, we knew each other. Thats what was lost.

I agree. I've thought about it, most of us during the MJ days and beginning of gl4x4 were roughly the same age (within 10 years, except for some of the ol'gaurd that is still around like Ironman and Whiterhino and kb8ymf and a couple others) and when I look at everybody i knew on here it seems like life happened to us all, growing up and getting careers and responsibilities and stuff LOL This stuff has been pushed to the back burner, at least it has for me.

Kids... we effectively don't go anywhere anymore. Mostly because the youngest is a terrorist. My boy loves going to the jeep stuff/shows. But he wants to eat, look at the jeeps and leave.

That and I don't have any Jeeple within about 45 minutes these days.

Dibellas within the next 2 weeks. Send me a PM and we'll figure it out. Then at lunch we'll schedule a wheeling trip. I work like 100 hours a week recently, but I'm GOING to make time to get out on the trail again.

I think people would wheel more together locally if they WOULD POST IT UP!!!!
I see pics all the time of people at Bundy, R&V or the Mounds but if no one knows you are going, no one can hook up.
