I actually think it's improving. I think it hit a low, and has barely started to creep back up. I think people are getting tired of the newb Facebook group club scene that only run two tracks in 2wd. I think for the more aggressive type wheelers the forums are there for them.

And like posted earlier, when I see tech questions asked on Facebook and I know a thread is here about it, I try and link up. Problem is photo bucket. I know on my threads I'm been slowly trying to upload the dead links to Flickr and bring the pics back.

I'd like to see it survive as well, and for that to happen I think the admins need to embrace a little bit of what has become successful on the social media platform.

1. Get rid of usernames, use real names. People are much less likely to be total dicks (and thus chase potential new enthusiasts away) if they aren't hiding behind some faceless username.

2. Continuing on number 1, if admins really want to see this platform survive/thrive, boot out and permanently ban assholes and drama queens/known thieves and scammers.

3. Get Pic uploading figured out! Nobody wants to use a third party uploader! Tapatalk is great, but still cumbersome, especially if you want to actually do some real writing.

4. Cross promote the forum, and 4x4 related stuff. If someone posts about a meetup or event, instead of just replying with "cool" or nothing at all, post up a link on Facebook or other social media sites. Cross promotion works! As was said previously, post up on your social platform cool threads and such that you find (if the admins allow that sort of unlocked potential)

We can barely get the admins to take care of the mundane day to day stuff.

I do like your thoughts though, this forum was started by a troll who got booted from MJ, so that was a big part of this place for a while. Everyone has matured a bit, so giving another go at could be successful.

My lunch is usually from 11:30 to 12:30, but from my workplace to Dibellas is over 40 minutes, so I'd need to take a long lunch. Wednesdays are usually the best day for that.

I miss the the old day of this place being so active you had to look for thread you posted in the day before to see what all had happen.
I stopped being on here after I sold me CJ about 4 years ago and tried to get back into the Car world. I regretted it after a year and then I sold the car. Spent the few years looking for a new Jeep and finely got a TJ and Now I am back.

I check this page ever day before I go in to work and after. I get excited when something new shows up on here Like a new Build thread or something in the Pub that is not a continuation of a old post (i still like the old stuff) that shows we have activity.

Also somehow we need to purge the site of some stuff. Like super old ass fore sale posts, members that have been inactive in like 2 or more years. Also what about inactive MODS and Putting some new People in charge of stuff?

#119 ·
Why? How does those old post, inactive members, and past mods negatively effect your current forum experience?

I rarely go very far on here now due to using tapatalk. I have no clue my main screen login and tapatalk sucks to navigate on.

I stopped browsing as much when I sold my Jeep. Had a couple kids and the Jeep took a backseat, and now that the kids are older I'd like to get another one, but don't know anyone in the area that still hits the trails. So I'm hesitant to buy one to just have it sit around like the last one. It would be tough to try and join the early 20 something group for trail rides when I would have two little kids with me, I feel our 'wheeling' thoughts are different. I'd still like to do challenging stuff even with the kids, not just 2wd fire roads.

He might be able to explain that this "was" my email but now I use this email, blah blah. Either way, hopefully this gets resolved. We need peeps to come back and rejuvenate the forum. :teehee:

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
