looks like y'all have a great group of people here, i am glad to join and share my new build i am starting, and i am sure i will be asking lots of questions.
so i bought a rolled over 2004 2500hd 4x4 6.0 truck and plan to make it a wheeling RIG, plans so far are to chop the front suspension off and sas 4 link with a superduty dana 60 hp front axle. rear plans are 4 link and shorten wheel base and frame a little.
going to remove factory t case and replace with clocking ring and a 241 C manual shift with fixed front yoke for 4 link set up.
i removed the rest of the windshield and straightened the roof back out good enough to set a new windshield in. that install went smooth for being my first windshield garage install. and cheap. purchased brand new windshield with two tubes of urethane for $55 out the door at john r glass in Madison heights mi.
they actually paid me way way way more than i thought they where going to so cant complain.
$26,650 for 2008 with 238k miles - i did not disagree one bit.
paid $18,000 last July
now i do not know what to get kind of thinking about a old dually i can just leave hooked to the goosneck and use when i need to tow, and daily drive a beater gas vehicle.
i do not really need a daily driven 2500/3500 diesel like i was.
talked them down to $4,715 OTD they where asking $5,600, has new tires on it 2005 8.1L 5 speed Allison trans 5.13 rear end gear, deck is 24ft, truck is a old 26'' box truck with walls cut off
group i was with was ready to leave around 4:30 they both broke front axle shaft joints and i broke a lock out so we went to bottoms up for couple cold ones then home. thanks again for the event it was a great time.
Without going back and looking at your build specs, assuming stock LS, auto trans, stock transfer case and decently built one ton axles, if someone just wants to wheel what's there, $6-10K. There are a lot of variables based on the guts of your axles.
stock 6.0 ls with full standalone wiring harness and tune
stock 4l80e
241-c manual shift t case
trussed 14 bolt disc brake rear axle with full spool
99-04 super duty front axle with full truss locker
5.38 gears front rear
3/8 thick ruff stuff front and rear diff covers
2.5'' 16'' long king coil overs up front
16'' long big shocks nitrogen in rear
all D.O.M tubing rear and front of frame
boxed frame rails
You're better off to part it out... this isn't the state to sell wheeling trucks in unfortunately. If i were you, I'd use the stuff you can- 6.0- trans- miscellaneous parts-and front shocks. Sell the rest for new build parts! What's your plan now? New buggy? You'll miss wheeling this thing because it's challenging i guarantee it.
Nice! I suppose you want your cake and eat it too lol!
Im guessing you want to wheel your current while you build the future? Pm me for details on lower priced 05+sd 60's...

Good day at snow snake have to take the bad with the good, dumb mistake first run didn’t have one lock out fully locked, second run was much better all in all fun good day !
Hey man, it was nice meeting up with you and your wife.
Your second run was pretty damn good. With 2 solid runs you would've been close to the top.
We should meet up to do some wheeling soon. Maybe at some of the rbor races.
Hell yeah man! Shoot me a text when you're heading up this way.
I'm on the fence with rbor right now. So i might not do anything to the truck after the Easter egg hunt at r+v. Building the house is top priority and running a racing campaign may not fit into that very well. :teehee:
They look pretty nice. I was thinking they were liquid iron from 06silverback on pirate. I doubt i need them right away, but they are a very nice upgrade indeed.
