looks like y'all have a great group of people here, i am glad to join and share my new build i am starting, and i am sure i will be asking lots of questions.
so i bought a rolled over 2004 2500hd 4x4 6.0 truck and plan to make it a wheeling RIG, plans so far are to chop the front suspension off and sas 4 link with a superduty dana 60 hp front axle. rear plans are 4 link and shorten wheel base and frame a little.
going to remove factory t case and replace with clocking ring and a 241 C manual shift with fixed front yoke for 4 link set up.
i removed the rest of the windshield and straightened the roof back out good enough to set a new windshield in. that install went smooth for being my first windshield garage install. and cheap. purchased brand new windshield with two tubes of urethane for $55 out the door at john r glass in Madison heights mi.
You talking to me lol? I would normally just do what i want, but we're in the process of building a 40x60 shop on the 40 acres we just bought, and in the spring we're starting to build our 3000 sq ft house, so spending 20k on a toy isn't going to happen right now. I'm going to try to get weights dialed in, and get my shocks, springs, and air bumps. Build the frame and cage, then the plan is to build my axles.
no these tires are just off anther truck of mine, just using them for now since i sold the military 37s i had for the truck :nana::nana::beerbang::whiz:
Not many details sadly lol I Don’t remember what brand joints but they are weak broke them first hill climb in trails, time for new shafts & non grease-able good joints and should be good
thought i did but guess i didnt good enough haha whoops. im around 34.5 inch front centerline of front axle ujoint to tcase face plate, already had drive shaft fixed and ordered shorter limit straps should be ok for now i hope, need to remember its a big 4x4 sas truck not a 2wd trophy truck lmao guess i cant have all the travel in the world new build im sure there is more bugs to work out as time comes dam new guy
Ooh bummer, upgrade to 1410 front shaft time? It's an easy swap, and you'll get more angle out of it. Or maybe look into the BAMF joint? That's the problem with little joints, they limit your droop.
What's the length you need? I made a 1410 high angle driveline for mine. But I'm going to a doubler and a CV shaft so I don't need mine anymore. Long aftermarket slip as well. Not balanced. Vibrates above 20mph in low. Could be that my angles are all out of wack
there just to big for my truck and set up your suppose to have half the shaft or more showing at ride high and i cant, if i sell i will probably go to 12-14'' shocks
