When do we decide to work together and do something that will affect the oil companies? Everyone loves to bitch and complain but nobody is willing to do anything but bend over and take it.
What are you recommending. In a free market supply and demand dictate price. As a consumer your only weapon is to decrease demand (as the US has been doing over the past several months).

Gas down to 3.57 today. It was my once-a-week fill up. Seems to come down about $0.02 a day.

You can trust the oil companies, they would never price gouge anybody.

I did! What are YOU doing?

I went from drving a nice plush ZJ and a TJ (both getting about 15 mpg) to a Geo and a Contour (both getting about 30 mpg), and on top of that I ride my Harley nearly every day (averaging about 40 mpg). I've decreased my fuel consumption by almost 60% this year! How about you?

$147 barrel to $118 barrel 147-118=$29.......29/147=19.7%

4.20 gal to 3.59 gal 4.20-3.59= $.61...... .61/4.20=14.5%

4.20*19.7%= $.83....... 4.20-.83= $3.37

With no lag time from the rig to the pump gas should be at 3.37 not 3.59. So with aproximated lag time then by next week you should see gas as low as $3.37. So will it happen?

Tune in next week to see the exciting conclusion.....

terrible math/logic.

that is assuming there is no fixed rates involved, ie, assuming the price at the pump is 100% directly influenced by the price of oil.

They still have fixed refinery costs.... buildings, salary, utilities, etc. They still have to ship it, etc. Those prices are fairly stable.

x2

Also keep in mind the prices you see on crude is a futures price. You are not comparing apples to apples. Now, go back and research where crude fluxuations were a month ago and the figures may be closer.

So does it cost the oil company more to ship the oil then say.........4 years ago when it was $1.27? Well the cost to ship it did go up but the oil company increased that cost while maintaining record profits so does that get considered a wash? Oops I rounded pi to 3.142857142857 instead of using 22/7, i never was good at geometry

You are absolutely correct!

They should have just absorbed the rising costs because they were making too much money.

WHAT THE fukc ?

Should they run a non profit charity? Lets see how our budget looks with the tax dollars of the people directly and indirectly employed by them isn't there.

If I misunderstood your point forgive me but it sounds like the same babble I hear from others around lately.

Thanks and have a great day!
