Default 89 Bii

does anybody know if there is a kit on the market to rebuilt a factory ford 7.5 LS carrier. and is it worth putting a front locker in my stock d35? FYI i have factory 3.73 gears. and am running 30x8x15 tires. 1" lift. going to be mounting a good roof rack, brush guard to hold cb antenna and lights and will be mounting chevrolet k1500 tow hooks. what do you think. i will post pictures when i am done.

lots of 8.8 info in this thread
as far as 7.5 info try broncoii.org, thats probably your best bet.

8.8s you get can w/ disk brakes and also have a larger amount of available parts.
overall its a much better axle and not overly expensive, great choice to swap into a bronco ii and from what i have heard it is not very difficult (relatively speaking)

i think it has the factory traclock Limited slip carrier and i am looking for a kit to rebuild it. i have replaced the rear springs and bought front springs last week. i think i am going to put in 2" blocks and coil spacerswhile the hardware is off. the new springs raised it back to stock height more or less. just wondering if i would need new brake hoses or anything to do a really cheap 2" lift. ordered a roof rack to haul a spare tire and deer this fall. also going to order a cheap jcw full brush guard to hold my 6" KC hilights. finally i have two fullsize chevrolet tow hooks to mount up for a solid front tow point. working on gathering parts for a cb radio install and a home made tire carrier for the roof rack. when all this is done i should be done untill next summer. i wont have much extra money while at school. I'll probably save all year for a set of tires.
