Spro, I didn't even look behind the back seat, or fold them forward. I did sit in them and recline that was it. Sorry.

If you want an honest opinion of the rear storage bin, I can go look at it again this week.

as to my post, i have rode with the guy out to montana, and the computer and our miliage checked out, you can call me on this but i know its true, also, as for the transmission that my other friend put in, as far as i know any transmission with a spliter isnt stock and is made to tow crap...

i am not here to start an argument, just stating what i have seen. belive me if you want to or not.

on a stock tranny (and about 100hp programer) you can only get down to low 14's and thats only temporary until the trans goes

FWIW ill have 3k into my trans 1500 in computer stuff 600 in exhaust 500 into a lift pump and i *should* be in the low 13's (on diesel only) come spring time the best mileage i have seen on 35's has been 18.5 around town/work and 17.5 towing about 6k lbs

IMHO, the Ford 7.3 / manual trans is a good package - because I work for Ford.
I wanted to buy a CTD because of its reputation - but I work for Ford.

Anyhow, my 96 F250 2wd gets 21 mpg unloaded (never driving over 65 though). Bought it to tow my XJ around, then in a fit of confusion, sold the damn Jeep.

Dodge cabs are smaller than Crew Cab Chevy's or Ford's...unless you get the new mega cab.

Muddinguy is a small dude, so I don't see why interior space is an issue for him....:miff:

But honestly you're comparing trucks. One might have one more cubic foot of space, but even still whichever truck you get you're going to have plenty of room inside.

I swung by the dodge dealer tonight to take a look.. they were closed so i just had to look at the outside.. But that Mega Cab is preatty sweet !!! but it looks okward cause the cab is soo long... my Dad's Sierra crew cab gives plenty of rooom for a fullsized adult in the back.. and it dont look akward like that.. besides the new Dodge Front end looks like Hell IMO... but the cummins is the best diesel so i guess i wont know til i test drive a dodge

I have owned all three now, all 3/4 tons but not all of them oil burners. IMO the 01 SD 7.3 TD is the best of the bunch. I didnt like the dodges ride, or the fact that the front axle was always in need of some tyoe of repair, weather it be steering brakes or U-Joints. The GMC drove like shit with a heavy load, all though it had the best ride empty. The Ford rides and drives very close to the same loaded or unloaded, and the Power Stroke with a SuperChips programmer alone is no lazy rig.

I havent owned the SD very long yet, only 38k. But so far I have only one complaint, the lack of storage under the rear seat is pathetic, it is huge waste of space. The engineers could have done much better.
But in the end it really just comes down to personal choice.

Rumor is that the mega cab will be out in the near future in a dually version. Too bad it won't have an 8' bed to go with it. They are supposed to be releasing the 4500/5500 soon as well. I can't wait to see what those look like and to see the price tag.

Default ....not a hard answer

GM all the way. Their durmax has made major improvements. As for dodge, The cummins is a great motor, even though cummins is more that 50% owned by ford....but dodge trucks fall apart. And ford.....i don't even want to get started, i'll be here all day stating how cheap and brittle they are.
