Default just seized the motor...have some questions

ok my 125 just seized and it obviously needs a top end. when replacing the top end you just pull off the head, pull the cylinder, and replace the piston, pin, bearing, and rings correct?
with my motor seizing up is my cylinder gonna need to be machined?

I am thinking you have the electroplated cylinder, so you can't machine it. Hopefully it survived teh seize.

Do you know why it seized? I would be sure to know why it happened so you don't replace the parts and have it happen again.

Sorry to hear your bike died.

i believe it is plated. im not sure why. its ran fine all week on the same tank of gas. ive been running 32:1 mix exactly. i just started it today to play around on a little and as i was heading back to the house i heard a little rattle noise then just seized up.

PS. i may take you up on your offer to borrow those case splitting tools sooner than i expected lol

The more oil you run, the leaner you are running your motor, oil is not gas, make sure you did not run it lean. Isn't 32:1 kinda fat on the oil side?

Lotsa reasons it could have stuck.....

what oil are you running i run klotz or belray and run it one bottle to 5 gal of gas its like 40 to 1 never and i mean never had a prob with any bike even running in the middle of winter

i would doubt though that it is the oil but more like your case problem prolly got worse and shcked air and ran lean

I believe 32:1 is the ratio recommended by Kawasaki, and honestly, the difference in the fuel content from 32:1 to say, 50:1 isn't enough for a seize.

I'm thinking the stator-side crankshaft seal failed or there's a (big) leak in the carb boot.

yea but 32 t 1 is so ritch ....if you read the recomdations on the oil it is mix a bottle of oil to 5 cal and thats what most people do .....i wasnt saying that it was oil that caused the problem i was just stating that is what i was running with no problems .....i too also believe that there is a air leak somewhere that caused the problem like case seals carb boot or crank seals i would also clean the carb to rule out a clogged jet
