I see both sides of the story. But I'm pretty sure ebay is a legal binding contract.

The company obviously didn't understand reserves, but they could have used a better excuse then killer bees.

Can't wait to see the outcome of this. Pretty bad press for that company.

It says before you submit your bid for an item that that is your agreement to purchase that item for at amount in the event that you win the auction and all the seller's conditions are taken care of(reserve price reached...) The RV dealership is in the wrong 100%!!! Being someone who over the years has probably spent many many many thousands of dollars on ebay buying things if the dealership did that to me id be on a plane w/ an attorney the next day.

I bought my wife a used car once which had rolled back miles on it , I would have never known but the idiot forgot to remove the service sticker under the hood which listed the original miles on it (this was way before internet) but records were checked thru the service shop . I called the state and the dealer refunded 1/2 of the cost of the car , the dealer said he did not do it and blamed the service shop ...why would they turn back miles , maybe the prior owner did it but the dealer paid very quick so the guilty sign was flashing bright over his head.

the rv company is fucked
an auction is an auction and without a reserve what ever the final asking price ends up to be is a contract to purchase it for that price
the only thing they can do is go to court but what are they going to argue that the guy listed it by mistake without a reserve....too bad

i learned all about contracts today in building and real estate class and the instructor mentioned a story about a person that had agreed to auction his home that included a island and a home valued at 850k

it was a no reserve auction and the auction company re assured him that they had bidders in the crowd to get him his price but the guy that was supposed to bid got into a wreck on his way to mc donalds and only 4 bidders showed up lol
the house went for 157k and he had to sell it for that price
