There is a tank motor on display at the chrysler museum. I couldn't figure out wtf it was for till I finally got around to the description plaque.

Suprised with your old skool knowledge, you just saw those.

Yes, there's one in the walter p chrysler museum. They found it, NOS, had been sitting in south america in cosmoline for ~50 years. I remember the stories about it in the internal chrysler newpapers back when I worked there.

Dude, sometimes you freak me out with your knowledge.
I'm guessing you don't play a lot of video games, or watch a lot of TV

The tank motors I always read about were the old 2 stroke ones and the rotaries. Never seen this one, then again I don't read about tanks a lot as there is not much hope of me getting to play with one

Yeah, 5 MoPar (Plymouth) flathead 6s with a common crankcase. It was easier to swap out the whole engine than to give one a tune up.

Chrysler also built the Sherman tanks.

Yeah, that one is sweet. Forget if it was a P-40 or a P-51 motor. Those were always impressive, because aircraft need horsepower. Think that one is 3000 hp.

Sounds like a bunch of 6 cylinders (imagine that). I think they also used an opposed piston engine in the later models.
