Dana 44HD and 14bolt FF *SOLD*

The dana 44 is out of a 1978 3/4 ton chevy truck w/ open flat top knuckles. A rancho raised steering arm. Has new inner/outer bearings and rases on both sides, new passanger hub, new super winch lockouts, and drivers inner and outer axle shafts, and brute force u-joints. It also has a Auburn limited slip in it that was put in last year. Have both old steering arm and old carrier. All it needs is a new ring and pinion, the guy i bought it from replaced the pinion seal but never torqued the nut back down so it chipped and ring. The 14bolt is a full floater and a 10.5 ring gear out of a 1987 1 ton truck. It has a govlock in it. Both have 4:10 gears. I'll try to get pics up sometime this week. Ify ou have any other questions feel free to ask.

I'm asking 450.00 obo

Thanks

Is it an actual HD LP D44 housing, or is it a LP D44 with an 8-lug pattern?

Can you please explain what makes you think its a D44 HD? The reason I ask is because I thought HD's stopped before 78 (more like 76).

The site linked below focuses primarily on Ford axles, but take a look at the pictures in this link and see if you can identify what you have. People frequently call their D44's "HD's" just because they have an 8-lug pattern.

Not sure what that has to do with anything. Here's the homepage for the link above.

would you consider selling off just the 14 bolt? I have a 14 bolt but it is not 4.10 and I need a 4.10 geared 14 bolt...the one I have is 3.73.....would you consider an axle trade & some cash for the axle you have?

do you have the original carrier for the rear axle? the military trucks only came with 4.56 gears and had a detroit locker in the rear.

that's what i thought, i remember reading a build thread and a guy scored a brand new 14b with the gear marking compound still on it with 4.56, detroit, and disks for about 700, it was from like 1986 i think too

No all i got was a dana 60 front and a 14bolt FF from the guy. The front still had the ratio tage on it and it said 4:10. But i can look at the rear but i sure i didn't see a tage on that one.
