Default Traverse City area Camping/Canoeing

Looking for a campground (for tent camping) near Traverse City for one night this weekend with or near somewhere to canoe in the morning.

Any suggestions west siders?

There's the Traverse City State park right on 31. You could canoe on East Bay.

Or like someone said earlier, Ranch Rudolf.

Also, the Platte River isn't bad.

Look to the DNR website. A friend always heads to Spider or Arbutus Lakes.

The platte river canoe livery, which is next to the sleeping bear dunes national park campground. It's beautiful there and a great canoe ride!! You should be able to walk in and get a spot but I know it's been busy there.

Well Bones finally chimed in and I guess we're' going to check out Sleeping Bear Dunes. We'll be at Spider Lake the rest of the weekend for the fam. reunion....

Do the upper platte. Many tipped canoes there :) The state forest campgrounds are nice.
