Default opinions on selling my boat

Thinking about selling my ski boat.
1999 Malibu Response LX (the LX is for the bow rider)
325 hp Monsoon engine
heater
4 blade prop
boom
400 or so hours
Not perfect but in good condition.

Nada shows a bone stocker between $13,800 & $15,600. Where do you think I should price it to make it move?

Thoughts?

That's helpful. Thanks.

I'll get pics up if I decide to list it. Right now I just wanted a discussion on where it should be priced. The guys who would know would also know what it looks like.

Pics help narrow down condition. That is all I was getting at.

like everything whiterhino owns, it looks like hell, doesn't work and was probably stored next to the pile of tires on fire in his back yard.

Jim if you want it to move I would think around 11-12k would get it done. But I agree with hoser, no one is buying shit right now.

Yeah I won't let it go that low. I don't need to sell it, just looking at some options. Thanks for the input.

BTW, it's a little easier to read hoser's post now.

We've actually been in the same boat lately (hahaha, pun intendid).

Got a 88 Chaparell 20' bow rider that we've been using at my parents for skiing and tubing and cruising. The shift cable broke, and we realize that we don't use this boat much anymore, so the thought of just fixing it and selling it got discussed. Then we looked at what boats are selling and what they are selling for, it is NOT worth it right now. We're keeping the boat.

But I know where you can get a GREAT tournament boat for 1/3 of what they are new.

just like houses... everyone is afraid to sell because it will have to be priced really low to sell it, if you are getting out of it entirely then you should wait to sell. if you plan on getting another one then figure on losing 3k to make this one sell but get the new one and it is 10k less than it should be so 20% is 20% but 3k is different than 10k..... no reason not to take a hit and move up if you are making out on that one also.

see what I mean?

Actually I've got my eye on an older nostalgic boat that will save me some cash and put a classic on the hoist. But I'm not going to give this one away to do it.

Actually the boat I want is my brother's 86 Mastercraft.

No, but you could put one on. I've used it for show, trick, slalom and barefoot. It's probably one of the very best inboards for combined barefoot and slalom.

Nope, older stars & stripes was 84. And there's also a mid 90's version. Don't know exact years.
