Default My "New" (to me) M-416 military trailer

Let me just say that revho has dibs if I change my mind and decide to sell this in 6 months.

Here's my "new" (to me) 1/4-ton M-416 military trailer. I just licensed it today, and will be using it to haul camping gear, kids' bicycles, veggie oil, etc. behind my '05 Unlimited or my new (to me) '82 diesel Suburban. I'll make it look pretty over the winter or next spring, but will use it as-is for now. I'll start by repacking the bearings in the next week, and getting it ready for road/highway use.

The nice thing is that all of the military bits (data plate, lunette, blackout lights, etc.) are still in-tact.

Craig

Revho, you will be a very very lucky buyer.

Craig will disassemble, beef up, repaint, and sell it.

The 'burban isn't a project, but rather a truck I'll be driving as-is on $1/gal. fuel. Unless it dies, it won't be leaving the household for a while.

Thanks for all the bets on the trailer, though. I'll take good care of it for you, revho.

That probably will be a shitty wheeler with no motor and only one axle though Craig.

*Right click, copy, paste into a Word file, save for future quoting*

Now you can't delete this statement later when you realize on Oct. 12 that you're going to put it up for sale on Columbus day.

It will only make it to Primer, before he sells it.

You are correct, sir. However, some of these trailers actually had a drive axle with a PTO-driven driveshaft, making the vehicle a 6-wheel-drive. So technically, it could be a wheeler.

Kara wanted me to let the girls paint it all different colors (to which I said "no"). At least I know you have good taste, and would pick a nice color. As long as it's not fuchsia, it's all good.

Thought of you yesterday Craig, as I spotted a guy on his bicycle headed south on Pine Island to Scott's Country Club for a round of Golf.

I know he was going golfing because he had his Golf Clubs in the Kiddie Trailer that he was pulling behind his bike.
However, I think your new trailer might be a little heavy to pull behind your Bicycle.....................you better hook it to the Tandom and have Kara ride with you.
