Default Name that part

Having trouble finding out what Ford calls this part, in my opinion it is a TCM but doesn't appear to be called that. Control Module of some sort, TV cable runs into it.

On a '93 Lincoln Mark VIII if it matters.

Thanks in advance,
Brian

Shouldn't have anything to do with cruise, I think it controls the auto trans kickdown, shift points determined by throttle position.

I still think is looks like a cruise control actuator.

Could always unplug it and see what doesn't work!

thats what i thought looks just like one .... just dunno what its plugged into. it doesn;t make sense for a trans kick down to be way over there. and fords normal the kick down on the trans is driver side mounted thats on passenger side

Probably the hold in cable for the throttle. Not the TV cable.

I guess this is the part of the thread when I have to admit I'm a dumbass... Yeah, it's the cruise control module. Back to square one.

93 is full electronic... ie not a kickdown cable.

I would also guess cruise. Where do the cables come from and go to?

I did actually get the car fixed. Once I got past my initial wrong direction I started digging into it, found someone had unhooked the IAC (or at least what I think is Idle Air..), I reconnected it and that made the car idle about 2000 RPM's. Coulple that and the high shift points and having to let off the gas to get it to shift, traced it down to a TPS. Changed out the sensor, put it back together and it shifts perfectly.

Thanks to all for trying to help me out,
Brian
