Talking about the rock courses?

No it hasn't. All quotes came in over budget so they are re-evaluating.

Just curious...

Was the budget:

"1 - 6 pack of Highlife and 2 - 40s of King Cobra"

???

That'd be sweet if they get a nice rock course in there.

As WR said, over budget. but it was awarded to Argoscape. Have yet to figure out who they are. Will see if GCP&R are willing to tell us what's going on. Once we passed the public hearing stage of the process they've been pretty resistant to tell us anything. Anything we've gotten was found over the internet in teh way of public documents.

It is going t happen. Just have to hold on for a while. Government agencies wheels turn at a rate slower than a rock crawlers wheels do.

Why wouldn't it be put out for re-bid if all were over budget, rather then awarding it to the lowest that is still way over budget?

I'd love to ask that question but GCP&R are not responding to any e-mail or phone calls. At least teh ones who whould know the answers to those quesitons. I assume there were so few bids that putting it out again would not be of much benefit as the same one or two people would quote again.
What I suspect is that they (GCP&R and the contractor) are trying to find ways to reduce the cost/content of the development. That being said, wouldn't you think calling in the 'experts' (GLFWDA) to question where short cuts might be able to be made and still deliver a Rock Crawl Course that will be desirable would have been somewhere on the list? Still no phone call.

Honestly I talked to my uncle about this issue because he was on a motorcycle board that tried to have improvements done to the mounds years ago. He laughed at me and said good luck, it will never happen. He said they will do anything not to do it, maybe this is their way of making it fail?

It's SRT jackass. No, I'm not going to take it on the rocks. Nice attempt to be funny. Hahahaha.

Yes, the first time the dealer repainted the bumper it did not match. Anyone would be pissed.

I was joking about not being able to afford the gas because of all the money that I had to shell out for the new place. It turned into some big, I'm a cheap ass thing from there.

The only Board that has ever existed @ the Mounds is the one conviened by the Judge after the lawsuit and court case that was filed by the residents. I am the on that Board. There are members from the DNR, ATV group, Mototcycle group, and residents. I don't recall any improvements that we're suggested unless they were suggestions that were asked of the County but were not budgeted and therefore not doable. Up until recently the Mounds ORV Advisory Board had been pretty effective in giving direction to the GCP&R. Lately though information has been getting tougher to obtain and the Board has been consulted less and less every year. If you've got any suggestions for improvements for the Mounds, I would be the best avenue to get them presented.
