Default My friends. I need your help.

If you get to pick a camera, but only have 2 choices which one of these would you pick? It's free I am leaning towards the fuji unless I hear really bad things about it.

fuji<-----click me

or

canon<-----click me

printing your own pictures is extremly overrated and overpriced out of one of those printers.

neither of the cameras are anything really special, i think canon makes better products and are simple to use but i never have used a fuji.

the fuji has more zoom and more mega pixels, but that doesn't me its gonna take a better picture than the canon.

i say either, they are both gonna take pics and be decent camera.

I really hope you aren't planning to buy a camera from Cabela's. Regardless, I wouldn't get either of those. You can get a better camera than either of those for around $200. I have a canon sd1000 that takes killer pictures, is small, easy to use and has kickass battery life. $179 at sam's club, $200 ish elsewhere.

X2 on printing your own. It's ungodly expensive and CVS/Walgreens is better at it than your computer and a cheap consumer photo printer.

My fault. I wasn't paying attention.

I'd get the Fuji in that case.

I didn't look at the specs of either.

We used Fuji's with rechargeable AA's at the old job. They were ok but felt cheap.

At home, we're on our 2nd Canon S-series and love the quality of the imagery - in particular the outdoor shots. It came with it's own proprietary rechargeable battery+charger, but the life on it is certainly VERY adequate. *Shrug*

didja compare the reviews at dpreview.com ? and/or any other site?

http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/comp...xa800&show=all

finepix A800 used. Not a lot of consumer reviews on either at that site, but at least it lays out the features side by side for ya'

i think ALL those type digitals EAT BATTERIES.

i'd go w/the fuji. got one free w/my dell couple years ago and it still rocks.

wife has an old style film cannon, and it still takes wonderful pictures too. (only used when can't find good batteries for the fuji).

get some rechargables. but don't loose the charger...like my kids did.

I have Cannon point and shoots. They work real well. I have used Fuji, no issues with those either. So I guess go with the "eni-meanie-miney-moe" method...

I would go with the Cannon.

I have a Cannon digital elph, the thing takes amazing pictures, It has performed flawlessly for over 6000 shots, and is starting to need a new battery soon. It has been manhandled by greasy fingers, dropped on concrete (the SS case is dented) and the memory card door is taped shut. I still use this camera a few times a week. The user interface is very friendly as well.

I also have a Fuji, although it is not a pocket camera like that. I love my Fuji, but even being a bigger camera feels kind of cheap in my hands, and the user interface is not real friendly as compared to the Cannon. It takes amazing pictures, but that is because it is a full optical camera with a 46mm lens.

Either one would be good but don't just look at the MP rating, as that does not matter as much as the quality of the lens, and things like that. My advice is find someplace that has display models and play with them a bit. (the cameras, not the female behind the counter)

both cameras are about equal, just pocket point and shoots.

with the mega pix. its not like your going to be making posters with these cameras so I would say cannon.

they both have the same settings and shutter speeds, except the Fuji said something about underwater, so is the Fuji waterproof? if so then hell yeah go with the fuji based on that reason.

over all construction and durability of either one, canon is superior to most specially Fuji so the Cannon.

If the Fuji isn't waterproof I would go with the Canon all day long

The canon lists it uses AA's but doesn't come with rechargable.

The fuji comes with rechargables.

I was never impressed with the a series canon's myself, but I love my S3IS

I think Deaner said it best..they are basic point and shoots - both of them. I wouldnt expect a whole lot of performance out of either..if you notice they both go for around $150 (pretty entry level)...you get what you pay for, but then again if its free...even better!
