Default Michigan SOS Title Transfer Question

Title was transferred again on my motorcycle into my name. I have the title that proves I am the owner, but never received a registration. I have the old registration notice, but it's under a different name and different address.

Was I supposed to get one with the transfer? I kept the same plate. It seems like I need to re-register. I spent a half hour waiting in the SOS in Royal Oak on my lunch and just couldn't take the waiting anymore.

Try calling the SOS to ask.

They have that nifty 800 number and it employs people in the state to answer the phone and answer your question.

You'll have to re-register. Title transfer only transfers ownership. Registration is a seperate process.

Just did. Since their website looks like an abortion put through a blender, it took me a little bit to find it.

Looks like I have to re-register.

Thanks all.

Well, I didn't know if I was supposed to get a registration because I thought I did it there. Guess not.
