My point is that the stars have to burn massive amounts of fuel to make energy, and, so if the universe has always been here, we would have to have an infinite supply of fuel. The fact is that we have a lot of hydrogen in the galaxy, but, for example, our own sun has only used up approximately 2%. Considering the conservation of energy and mass, tell me how we have these infinite volumes of hydrogen to keep stars lit for eternity? (especially because many stars are running out of hydrogen...they must have missed out on the infinite supply)

Do me a favor, take the bible and stop thinking from it. By that statement you're telling me what I think. Its a very common thing that religion does.

I choose ignorance. Do I believe in it? Nope. Church of ignorance isnt really .... a building. I dont owe them money.

I believe that when religon, a man, a company is put in a place where they point the finger outward they better be DAMN fucking solid on themselves.

Religion, the bible, lays down the big claims. The bourdon of proof does not rest on me. You made the claim. YOUUUUUUUUUUU have to prove it. I dont have to disprove it in order for it to be false. It is false untill proven true. That rests on you.

This entire thread has done nothing but prove without man there is no god. Yup. It proved it. I'll back that up for ya.

The Plantiff would like to submitt thread 114641.

I'll save you some time Deke, there is no proof, there was no proof, and there will be no proof. So you are chasing something that isn't there.

Its based on Faith, not fact.

I hope I'm wrong about religion, because then I would have to spend everyday with stan in hell.

But if i'm right, I'll just be worm food

[dave chappelle] The burden of proof is on the state, on the state. You have to prove to me beyond a reasonable doubt that the man is a pisser. [/dave chappelle]

We are solid on our beliefs, Deke.

As far as the man/God thing, there does not need to be man for there to be a God.

If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one there to hear it, the tree has still fallen. This conversation would not exist if there were no men, but God would exist before man as he did before man existed.

Not that long ago, this statement could follow "What proof is there that the world is round?" and it would remain largely unquestioned.

On a True and False test, when a statement says "there is no proof, there was no proof, and there will be no proof" it is usually false.

No you are solid on your false hope that your life is not a meaningless nothing and that someone cares. Heres a clue. Your family. Your closest friends they care.

Thats where it ends. Go cry now and pray.

Ok, lets get into praying and religion. Gods got a path. Its planned out. so you beg him to let ya win the lottery. still waiting huh?

Hey bro its all good. I know theres nothing but a buncha semi facts and shit for glue, err belief.

I'm with ya. Fuck it, hell sounds like fun. At least the devil isnt all huggy lovie and a liar. "God loves you no matter what; unless you're gay, have an abortion or dont give 7.5% of your pay to the church"

Heres a big flaw.

Gods relationship would be between me and him. WHats the damn point of the church then? fundamentally flawed. All religion has done since its been around is controll the population on a whole. Thats it.

To rest one's case on faith means to concede that reason is on the side of one's enemies- that one has no rational arguments to offer.

Really, there is nothing to argue about here. I need to see facts to believe something. You are going upon your upbringing, and faith.

We see two different things, I do not want to change yours, I'm basically stating my opinion.

If something ever was discovered, or something factual came out about ANYTHING in the bible, I would become a believer.

Until then, I won't.

Deke, I thought we were having an adult, educated conversation. I referenced the Bible because it is God's divine word spoken through men. You sent me a video of a man making a mockery of it. I didn't appreciate it.

Hey Deke, I know we said that this was going to be a peaceful conversation with no offence to anyone, but the "go cry now and pray" thing is rubbing me the wrong way.

That aside, I am not solid on a false hope. I have felt the presence of God. My life isn't meaningless, and this conversation with you proves it. Through interactions I have changed people's lives (Well, God through me [Proverbs 16:9]). In no way is my life meaningless.

As the lotto thing goes, have you ever seen Bruce Almighty? You can't say "yes" every time or everyone would win the lottery and that whole system would fall apart. It's like the bike thing I mentioned before, you can't always hang on.

Guys, I'm off to class, and then I'm meeting up with my girlfriend in Lansing, then I'm heading to Ypsi to get my Jeep. I don't know when I'll be back on.

Do me a favor though, I'd love to keep discussing this, but I would appreciate it if it would stay more appropriate. Thanks!
