Yeah, it was dumb. i did it at the dunes yesterday and spent some time in the burn unit at blodgett in grand rapids today. Good news is my hand looks good, after they cut off the burned skin they could tell that it wasn't as deep as they were afraid at first.

and...my one handed and one thumb typing skills are improving tically.

Regarding pictures...my fiance (who luckily is an EMT in his spare time) said today that he had considered taking pictures so he could map healing time and i told him that if he had broken out the camera while I was being a little girl about the pain i probably would have removed a certain portion of his anatomy.

If it makes you feel any better...

When I knew little to nothing about my old XJ, my muffler fell off(it got exponentially louder) on a trail ride.

Then I crawled under there and saw the catalytic converter and said "the muffler's right here.... I wonder what this(the muffler lying on the ground) is then..?", so I said "well I'll just grab it and make sure it's solid.

So I grabbed it to shake it. It was solid

I quickly learned it was also quite hot.

^^^ oowww....

We hadn't eaten, i get really stupid when my blood sugar dips (that's mt excuse and I'm sticking with it) and i thought I'd done some damage on the hill before exit so i pulled over to check.

Grandmaster had put my new muffler on this past thursday and he was going to put a better weld on it today. So...I poke under the Jeep, note that the welds still look good and think wonder if the clamps are holding and reahc out to check, followed quickly by holyshitthatwasstupid!!!!!!

I didn't put a meat thermometer on it but it was hot enough to turn my hand into a sizzler.

I did this last month... Grabbed the pipe coming off the one header. I was heating it up so I could bend it ~1" to make it line up with the header flange. Well my dad calls me on the phone, talk to him for a bit and forgot what i was doing when i hung up. Wrapped my hand around it... yup still hot!

We all do stupid stuff like that, don't feel alone.

I got my middle finger in between the winch cable and roller fairlead once. A doctor at War Memorial Hospital in Sault St. Marie, MI put my finger back on and it works good. This guy:

I had an accidental discharge with my M-16 once when I was on a SWAT team.................on full auto. (nobody injured)

And, I ran over my buddies foot with my Toyota 4Runner and f'd him up pretty good.
